“ But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai of Gilead and let them be among those who eat at your table. They stood by me when I fled from your brother Absalom.

But deal loyally with the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among those who eat at your table, for with such loyalty they met me when I fled from Absalom your brother.

“ Be kind to the sons of Barzillai of Gilead. Make them permanent guests at your table, for they took care of me when I fled from your brother Absalom.

大卫到了玛哈念，亚扪族的拉巴人拿辖的儿子朔比，罗底巴人亚米利的儿子玛吉，基列的罗基琳人巴西莱，带着被、褥、盆、碗、瓦器、小麦、大麦、麦面、炒谷、豆子、红豆、炒豆、蜂蜜、奶油、绵羊、奶饼，供给大卫和跟随他的人吃；他们说：“民在旷野，必饥渴困乏了。”

你和你的众子、仆人要为你主人的儿子米非波设耕种田地，把所产的拿来供他食用；他却要常与我同席吃饭。”洗巴有十五个儿子，二十个仆人。

有人报告大卫说：“以色列人的心都归向押沙龙了！”大卫就对耶路撒冷跟随他的臣仆说：“我们要起来逃走，不然都不能躲避押沙龙了；要速速地去，恐怕他忽然来到，加害于我们，用刀杀尽合城的人。”王的臣仆对王说：“我主我王所定的，仆人都愿遵行。”

看哪，我站在门外叩门，若有听见我声音就开门的，我要进到他那里去，我与他，他与我一同坐席。得胜的，我要赐他在我宝座上与我同坐，就如我得了胜，在我父的宝座上与他同坐一般。

你的朋友和父亲的朋友，你都不可离弃。你遭难的日子，不要上弟兄的家去；相近的邻舍强如远方的弟兄。

基列人巴西莱从罗基琳下来，要送王过约旦河，就与王一同过了约旦河。巴西莱年纪老迈，已经八十岁了。王住在玛哈念的时候，他就拿食物来供给王；他原是大富户。王对巴西莱说：“你与我同去，我要在耶路撒冷那里养你的老。”巴西莱对王说：“我在世的年日还能有多少，使我与王同上耶路撒冷呢？仆人现在八十岁了，还能尝出饮食的滋味、辨别美恶吗？还能听男女歌唱的声音吗？仆人何必累赘我主我王呢？仆人只要送王过约旦河，王何必赐我这样的恩典呢？求你准我回去，好死在我本城，葬在我父母的墓旁。这里有王的仆人金罕，让他同我主我王过去，可以随意待他。”王说：“金罕可以与我同去，我必照你的心愿待他。你向我求什么，我都必为你成就。”于是众民过约旦河，王也过去。王与巴西莱亲嘴，为他祝福，巴西莱就回本地去了。王过去，到了吉甲，金罕也跟他过去。犹大众民和以色列民的一半也都送王过去。

主人来了，看见仆人警醒，那仆人就有福了。我实在告诉你们，主人必叫他们坐席，自己束上带，进前伺候他们。

我在磨炼之中，常和我同在的就是你们。我将国赐给你们，正如我父赐给我一样，叫你们在我国里，坐在我的席上吃喝，并且坐在宝座上，审判以色列十二个支派。”

因为我祖全家的人，在我主我王面前都算为死人，王却使仆人在王的席上同人吃饭，我现在向王还能辨理诉冤吗？”
