The Lord will bring back his bloody deeds on his own head, because, without the knowledge of my father David, he attacked and killed with the sword two men more righteous and better than himself, Abner the son of Ner, commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, commander of the army of Judah.

take away the wicked from the presence of the king, and his throne will be established in righteousness.

Appoint a wicked man against him; let an accuser stand at his right hand.When he is tried, let him come forth guilty; let his prayer be counted as sin!May his days be few; may another take his office!May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow!May his children wander about and beg, seeking food far from the ruins they inhabit!May the creditor seize all that he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his toil!Let there be none to extend kindness to him, nor any to pity his fatherless children!May his posterity be cut off; may his name be blotted out in the second generation!May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord, and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out!Let them be before the Lord continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth!

Afterward, when David heard of it, he said,“ I and my kingdom are forever guiltless before the Lord for the blood of Abner the son of Ner.May it fall upon the head of Joab and upon all his father’s house, and may the house of Joab never be without one who has a discharge or who is leprous or who holds a spindle or who falls by the sword or who lacks bread!”

Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and to your descendants forever.” So he went out from his presence a leper, like snow.

He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear,but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked.Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins.The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them.The cow and the bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den.They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Morning by morning I will destroy all the wicked in the land, cutting off all the evildoers from the city of the Lord.
