耶洗別遣人見以利亞告之曰、如明日此時、我不使爾生命如彼之生命然、則願諸神降重災於我、

So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say,“ May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.”

So Jezebel sent a message to Elijah. She said,“ You can be sure that I will kill you, just as I killed the other prophets. I’ll do it by this time tomorrow. If I don’t, may the gods punish me greatly.”

Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying,“ So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.”

So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah:“ May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.”

So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying,“ May the gods punish me and do so severely if I don’t make your life like the life of one of them by this time tomorrow!”

Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying,“ So may the gods do to me and more so, if by about this time tomorrow I do not make your life like the life of one of them.”

便‧哈達又派人到亞哈那裏，說：「撒瑪利亞的塵土若足夠跟從我的軍兵每人手拿一把，願神明重重懲罰我！」

王說：「我今日若容許沙法的兒子以利沙的頭還留在他身上，願神重重懲罰我！」

你死在哪裏，我也死在哪裏，葬在哪裏。只有死能使你我分離；不然，願耶和華重重懲罰我！」

希律捉了彼得，押在監裏，交給四班士兵看守，每班四個人，企圖要在逾越節後把他提出來，當着百姓辦他。於是彼得被囚在監裏，教會卻為他切切禱告神。希律將要提他出來的前一夜，彼得被兩條鐵鏈鎖着，睡在兩個士兵當中；門前還有警衛看守。

『你辱罵誰，褻瀆誰，揚起聲來，高舉眼目攻擊誰呢？你攻擊的是以色列的聖者。

注意！有人說：「今天或明天我們要往某城去，在那裏住一年，做買賣賺錢。」其實明天如何，你們還不知道。你們的生命是甚麼呢？你們原來是一片雲霧，出現片刻就不見了。

法老對摩西說：「離開我去吧！你要小心，不要再見我的面，因為再見我面的那日，你就必死！」

現在，你們若準備好，一聽見角、號、琴、瑟、三角琴、鼓和各樣樂器的聲音，就俯伏拜我所造的像；若不下拜，必立刻扔在烈火的窰中，有哪一個神明能救你們脫離我的手呢？」

『你坐下，你出去，你進來，你向我發烈怒，我都知道。因你向我發烈怒，你的狂傲上達我耳中，我要用鈎子鈎住你的鼻子，將嚼環放在你口裏，使你從原路轉回去。』

「你們要對猶大王希西家如此說：『不要聽你所倚靠的神欺哄你說：耶路撒冷必不交在亞述王的手中。看哪，你總聽說亞述諸王向列國所行的是盡行滅絕，難道你能倖免嗎？我祖先所毀滅的，就是歌散、哈蘭、利色和提‧拉撒的伊甸人；這些國的神明何曾拯救他們呢？

仇敵說：『我要追趕，我要追上，我要分擄物，在他們身上滿足我的心願，我要拔刀，親手毀滅他們。』

不要為明天自誇，因為你不知道每天會發生何事。

雖然約押沒有擁護押沙龍，卻擁護了亞多尼雅；這消息傳到約押那裏，他就逃到耶和華的帳幕，抓住祭壇的翹角。
