亞哈謂俄巴底曰、遍巡斯土、至諸水泉溪澗、或得芻蕘、以救騾馬、免喪羣畜、

亞哈召阿巴底、告之曰、爾往遍地、井旁溪側、或有蒭蕘、以供馬騾、免使群畜喪亡。

亞哈命俄巴底曰、爾往遍地、至一切泉旁、一切溪旁、或者得草以養馬騾、不致牲畜盡絕、

Ahab had said to Obadiah,“ Go through the land to all the springs and valleys. Maybe we can find some grass to keep the horses and mules alive so we will not have to kill any of our animals.”

And Ahab said to Obadiah,“ Go through the land to all the springs of water and to all the valleys. Perhaps we may find grass and save the horses and mules alive, and not lose some of the animals.”

Ahab said to Obadiah,“ Go throughout the land to every spring and to every wadi. Perhaps we’ll find grass so we can keep the horses and mules alive and not have to destroy any cattle.”

Then Ahab said to Obadiah,“ Go through the land to all the springs of water and to all the river valleys; perhaps we will find grass and keep the horses and mules alive, and not have to kill some of the cattle.”

And Ahab had said to Obadiah,“ Go into the land to all the springs of water and to all the brooks; perhaps we may find grass to keep the horses and mules alive, so that we will not have to kill any livestock.”

And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go through the land, unto all the fountains of water, and unto all the brooks: peradventure we may find grass and save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts.

How the animals moan with hunger! The herds of cattle wander about confused, because they have no pasture. The flocks of sheep and goats bleat in misery.

Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope,the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

You cause grass to grow for the livestock and plants for people to use. You allow them to produce food from the earth—

Don’t be afraid, you animals of the field, for the wilderness pastures will soon be green. The trees will again be filled with fruit; fig trees and grapevines will be loaded down once more.

Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty,

Even the doe abandons her newborn fawn because there is no grass in the field.The wild donkeys stand on the bare hills panting like thirsty jackals. They strain their eyes looking for grass, but there is none to be found.”
