Elijah went there and stood in front of the people. He said,“ How long will it take you to make up your minds? If the Lord is the one and only God, worship him. But if Baal is the one and only God, worship him.” The people didn’t say anything.

以利亚前来对众民说：“你们心持两意要到几时呢？若耶和华是神，就当顺从耶和华；若巴力是神，就当顺从巴力。”众民一言不答。

以利亚近前来对众百姓说：“你们心持二意要到几时呢？如果耶和华是上帝，就当顺从耶和华；如果是巴力，就当顺从巴力。”百姓一言不答。

以利亚走到众人面前说：“你们三心二意要到什么时候呢？如果耶和华是上帝，你们当跟从祂；如果巴力是上帝，你们就跟从他吧！”他们都默不作声。

以利亚走近众人说：“你们三心两意，要到几时呢？如果耶和华是神，你们就应当随从耶和华；如果巴力是神，你们就应当随从巴力。”众人一句话也不回答。

以利亞湊近眾民面前，說：『你們猶豫於兩可之間、要到幾時呢？如果永恆主是上帝，你們就應該隨從永恆主；如果巴力是上帝，你們就隨從巴力好啦。』眾民一句話也不回答。

以利亞前謂民眾曰、爾持兩端、躊躇莫決、將至何時、如以耶和華為上帝、則從之、如以巴力為上帝、則從彼、民不答一詞、

以利亞至民前曰、爾曹執持兩端、躊躇未決、將伊於何底乎。如以耶和華為上帝、則從耶和華、如以巴力為上帝、則從巴力。斯民無言以對。

以利亞至民眾前曰、爾曹心持二意、何時乃己、如以主為天主、則從主、如以巴力為天主、則從巴力、民不答一言、

Elijah went before the people and said,“ How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” But the people said nothing.

And Elijah came near to all the people and said,“ How long will you go limping between two different opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word.

Then Elijah stood in front of them and said,“ How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” But the people were completely silent.

Then Elijah approached all the people and said,“ How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him. But if Baal, follow him.” But the people didn’t answer him a word.

Then Elijah approached all the people and said,“ How long are you going to struggle with the two choices? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people did not answer him so much as a word.

And Elijah came to all the people, and said,“ How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word.

And Elijah came near unto all the people, and said, How long go ye limping between the two sides? if Jehovah be God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Then Elijah approached all the people and said,“ How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If Yahweh is God, follow Him. But if Baal, follow him.” But the people didn’t answer him a word.

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD[ be] God, follow him: but if Baal,[ then] follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Elijah approached all the people and said,“ How long are you going to be paralyzed by indecision? If the LORD is the true God, then follow him, but if Baal is, follow him!” But the people did not say a word.

Elijah came near to all the people, and said,“ How long will you waver between the two sides? If Yahweh is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” The people didn’t say a word.

“ No one can serve two masters at the same time. You will hate one of them and love the other. Or you will be faithful to one and dislike the other. You can’t serve God and money at the same time.

But suppose you don’t want to serve him. Then choose for yourselves right now whom you will serve. You can choose the gods your people served east of the Euphrates River. Or you can serve the gods of the Amorites. After all, you are living in their land. But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”

You can’t drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too. You can’t have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons.Are we trying to make the Lord jealous? Are we stronger than he is?

Do not be joined to unbelievers. What do right and wrong have in common? Can light and darkness be friends?How can Christ and Satan agree? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?How can the temple of the true God and the statues of other gods agree? We are the temple of the living God. God has said,“ I will live with them. I will walk among them. I will be their God. And they will be my people.”( Leviticus 26:12; Jeremiah 32:38; Ezekiel 37:27)

They worshiped the Lord. But at the same time, they served the statues of their gods. And to this day their children and grandchildren continue to do what their people before them did.

So Samuel spoke to all the Israelites. He said,“ Do you really want to return to the Lord with all your hearts? If you do, get rid of your false gods. Get rid of your statues of female gods that are named Ashtoreth. Commit yourselves to the Lord. Serve him only. Then he will save you from the power of the Philistines.”

‘ I know what you are doing. I know you aren’t cold or hot. I wish you were either one or the other!But you are lukewarm. You aren’t hot or cold. So I am going to spit you out of my mouth.

I will destroy those who bow down on their roofs to worship all the stars. I will destroy those who make promises not only in my name but also in the name of Molek.

The Lord showed you those things so that you might know he is God. There is no other God except him.

All the people saw it. Then they fell down flat with their faces toward the ground. They cried out,“ The Lord is the one and only God! The Lord is the one and only God!”

“ Now then,” said Joshua,“ throw away the statues of the gods that are among you. People from other lands serve those gods. Give yourselves completely to the Lord. He is the God of Israel.”Then the people said to Joshua,“ We will serve the Lord our God. We will obey him.”

Laban and Bethuel answered,“ The Lord has done all of this. We can’t say anything to you one way or the other.

Know that the Lord is God. He made us, and we belong to him. We are his people. We are the sheep belonging to his flock.

Don’t you know that when you give yourselves to obey someone you become that person’s slave? If you are slaves of sin, then you will die. But if you are slaves who obey God, then you will live a godly life.You used to be slaves of sin. But thank God that with your whole heart you obeyed the teachings you were given!You have been set free from sin. You have become slaves to right living.Because you are human, you find this hard to understand. So I am using an everyday example to help you understand. You used to give yourselves to be slaves to unclean living. You were becoming more and more evil. Now give yourselves to be slaves to right living. Then you will become holy.Once you were slaves of sin. At that time right living did not control you.What benefit did you gain from doing the things you are now ashamed of? Those things lead to death!You have been set free from sin. God has made you his slaves. The benefit you gain leads to holy living. And the end result is eternal life.

Manasseh prayed to him. When he did, the Lord felt sorry for him. He answered his prayer. The Lord brought Manasseh back to Jerusalem and his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.

“ What can we say to you?” Judah replied.“ What can we say? How can we prove we haven’t done anything wrong? God has shown you that we are guilty. We are now your slaves. All of us are, including the one found to have the cup.”

You, Lord, are God! You have promised many good things to me.

The Pharisees heard that the Sadducees weren’t able to answer Jesus. So the Pharisees got together.

What the law says, it says to those who are ruled by the law. Its purpose is to shut every mouth and make the whole world accountable to God.

‘ Friend,’ he asked,‘ how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ The man couldn’t think of anything to say.

Later on, Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh. They said,“ The Lord is the God of Israel. He says,‘ Let my people go. Then they will be able to hold a feast to honor me in the desert.’ ”Pharaoh said,“ Who is the Lord? Why should I obey him? Why should I let Israel go? I don’t even know the Lord. And I won’t let Israel go.”

“ Teacher,” he asked,“ which is the most important commandment in the Law?”

“ I’m not worthy. How can I reply to you? I’m putting my hand over my mouth. I’ll stop talking.I spoke once. But I really don’t have any answer. I spoke twice. But I won’t say anything else.”

When morning came, he called for his disciples to come to him. He chose 12 of them and made them apostles. Here are their names.
