一日、以利臥於己所、其目已矇不能見、

以利年九十有八歲、其目矇眛、不能見、

以色列會眾集於示羅、以會幕立於彼、斯地皆為其所服、服或作獲

以撒年邁、目矇不明、召長子以掃曰、我子、曰、我在此、

以色列年邁、目矇不能見、約瑟攜子於父前、吻而抱之、

其時守室者將戰慄、有力者必卷曲、磨磨者寡而閒、自牖窺者皆昏暗、

我儕年壽、不過七十、若強健者可至八十、其中勞苦煩惱甚多、日月甚速、我儕迅逝如飛、

耶羅波安謂妻曰、起而易服、使人不得知爾乃耶羅波安之妻、往示羅、在彼有先知亞希雅、彼曾告我、我必為斯民之王、

摩西卒時、年百有二十歲、其目未矇、其力未衰、

民既歸營、以色列長老議曰、今日主使我敗於非利士人前何故、盍請主之約匱自示羅至此、約匱至我中、可救我脫於敵手、民遣人至示羅、由彼以居基路伯間萬有之主之約匱舁來、以利二子何弗尼非尼哈偕至、守天主之約匱、

昔示羅有我殿、我使我名在彼、因我民以色列作惡、我廢棄矣、爾可往觀、主曰、爾今作此諸事、我屢屢原文作每晨警教爾、爾不聽、召爾、爾不應、故我必廢棄斯殿、為我名而建者、即爾所恃者、亦必廢棄我所賜爾與爾列祖之處、如昔我在示羅所行者然、
