掃羅對僕人說：“如果我們去，有甚麼可以送給那人呢？因為我們袋裡的食物都已經用盡了，也沒有禮物可以送給那神人，我們還有甚麼呢？”僕人回答掃羅：“看哪！我手裡有三克銀子，可以送給那神人，請他告訴我們應該走的路。”

有一個人從巴力．沙利沙來，他帶給神人二十個用初熟大麥做的餅，還有新穗子，裝在他的袋子裡；以利沙說：“把這些給眾人吃吧！”

王對神人說：“請與我一起回王宮去，吃點東西，加添心力，我還要賜給你一份禮物。”

以利沙來到大馬士革。亞蘭王便．哈達患了病。有人告訴他說：“神人來到這裡了。”王對哈薛說：“你帶著禮物，去見神人，託他求問耶和華說：‘我這病能痊愈嗎？’”於是哈薛去見以利沙。他帶著禮物，就是大馬士革各樣的美物，由四十匹駱駝馱著，去站在他的面前，說：“你的兒子亞蘭王便．哈達派我到你這裡來，問你說：‘我這病能痊愈嗎？’”

乃縵和他的隨員又回到神人那裡，他進去，站在他面前，說：“看哪！現在我知道除了在以色列以外，全地都沒有神。現在，請你收下你僕人一點禮物吧。”

他聽見耶穌從猶太到了加利利，就來見他，求他下去醫治他的兒子，因為他的兒子快要死了。耶穌對他說：“你們若看不見神蹟奇事，總是不肯信。”

有一天，亞哈謝在撒瑪利亞，從樓上的窗戶掉下來，他就病了；於是他差派使者，對他們說：“你們去求問以革倫的神巴力．西卜，我這個病到底能否復原？”

亞蘭王說：“你去吧！我會送一封書信給以色列王的。”於是乃縵去了，手裡帶著三百公斤銀子，約七十公斤金子和十套衣裳。

有百夫長所重用的一個奴僕，病得快要死了。百夫長聽見耶穌的事，就打發猶太人中幾個長老到他那裡，求他去醫治他的奴僕。

姊妹二人派人到耶穌那裡去，說：“主啊，你所愛的人病了。”
