你們要把你們趕走的列國的人事奉神的地方，無論是在高山上，在山岡上，或是在各青翠樹下，都要完全毀壞；

你又為自己建造高岡，在各廣場上築起高壇。你在各路口建造高壇，使你的美麗變為可憎的，又向每一個過路的人張開兩腿，多行淫亂。

以色列人暗中做了不對的事，違背耶和華他們的神，並且在他們所有的城市，從哨站到設防城，為他們自己建築邱壇。又在各高山頂上和每一棵青翠的樹下豎立神柱和亞舍拉。

他重新建造邱壇，就是他父親希西家所拆毀的；又為巴力建立祭壇，做亞舍拉，好像以色列王亞哈所做的，並且敬拜事奉天上的萬象。他又在耶和華的殿內建造祭壇，耶和華曾指著這殿說：“我要立我的名在耶路撒冷。”他又在耶和華殿的兩院中為天上的萬象建造祭壇。他又把他的兒子用火燒為祭（“把他的兒子用火燒為祭”直譯是“使他的兒子經過進入火中”），並且算命、觀兆，交鬼和行巫術；多行耶和華看為惡的事，惹他發怒。他又把自己所做的亞舍拉雕像安放在聖殿中，耶和華曾對大衛和他的兒子所羅門論到這殿說：“我要在這殿和我從以色列眾支派中揀選的耶路撒冷，立我的名，直到永遠。

我領他們到了我曾經舉手起誓要賜給他們的那地，他們看見各高山和茂盛的樹林，就在那裡獻祭，在那裡奉上惹我發怒的供物，也在那裡獻上馨香的祭，並且在那裡澆上他們的奠祭。’我問他們：‘你們所去的那高處是甚麼地方？’於是那高處的名字叫巴麻，直到今日。

他們的兒女也懷念著那些在各高岡上、在繁茂樹旁的祭壇和亞舍拉。

耶和華必擊打以色列人，他們就擺動，像蘆葦在水中擺動一樣。他要把以色列人從他賜給他們列祖的這塊美地上拔出來，把他們分散在幼發拉底河那邊，因為他們做了亞舍拉，惹耶和華發怒。

我必從你中間除滅你的亞舍拉，毀滅你的偶像。

“你們不可為自己做偶像，不可為自己立雕像或神柱，也不可在你們的境內安置石像，向它跪拜；因為我是耶和華你們的神。

“你從古時就折斷了自己的軛，解開了自己的繩索，說：‘我不事奉你了。’你在每個高岡上，在每棵繁茂樹下，蹲伏行淫。

又在邱壇上、山岡上和各青翠樹下，獻祭燒香。

也不可為自己豎立神柱，這是耶和華你的神所恨惡的。”

‘只要你承認自己的罪孽，就是悖逆了耶和華你的神，在每棵繁茂的樹下，濫愛外族人的神，沒有聽從我的話。’這是耶和華的宣告。

不過在那些日子，人民仍然在邱壇上獻祭，因為還沒有為耶和華的名建造殿宇。
