And the Lord will strike Israel, so that it will be like a reed swaying in the water. He will uproot Israel from this good land that he gave to their ancestors and scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, because they aroused the Lord’s anger by making Asherah poles.

I, the Lord, will strike down Israel. Israel will be like tall grass swaying in the water. I will pull Israel up from this good land by the roots. I gave it to their people who lived long ago. I will scatter Israel to the east side of the Euphrates River. That is because they made the Lord very angry. They made poles used to worship the female god named Asherah.

Then the Lord will shake Israel like a reed whipped about in a stream. He will uproot the people of Israel from this good land that he gave their ancestors and will scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, for they have angered the Lord with the Asherah poles they have set up for worship.

For the LORD will strike Israel so that they will shake as a reed shakes in water. He will uproot Israel from this good soil that he gave to their ancestors. He will scatter them beyond the Euphrates because they made their Asherah poles, angering the LORD.

“ For the Lord will strike Israel, just as a reed sways in the water; and He will uproot Israel from this good land which He gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, because they have made their Asherim, provoking the Lord to anger.

耶和華－你們的上帝所應許的一切福氣怎樣臨到你們身上，耶和華也必照樣使各樣災禍臨到你們身上，直到他把你們從耶和華－你們上帝所賜給你們的這美地上除滅。你們若違背耶和華－你們上帝吩咐你們所守的約，去事奉別神，敬拜它們，耶和華的怒氣必向你們發作，使你們在他所賜給你們的美地上迅速滅亡。」

在以色列王比加的日子，亞述王提革拉‧毗列色來奪取以雲、亞伯‧伯‧瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯、夏瑣、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把這些地方的居民都擄到亞述去了。

上帝也要毀滅你，直到永遠。他要抓住你，從帳棚中拉你出來，從活人之地將你拔除。（細拉）

你要拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的柱像，砍斷他們的亞舍拉。不可敬拜別神，因為耶和華是忌邪的上帝，他的名是忌邪者。

我今日呼天喚地向你們作見證，你們在過約旦河得為業的地上必迅速滅亡！你們在那地的日子必不長久，必全然滅絕。耶和華必將你們分散在萬民中；在耶和華領你們到的列國中，你們剩下的人丁稀少。

「我從他們面前除滅亞摩利人；他雖高大如香柏樹，強壯如橡樹，我卻上滅其果，下絕其根。

耶和華先前怎樣喜愛善待你們，使你們增多，耶和華也要照樣喜愛消滅你們，使你們滅絕。你們必從所要進去得為業的地上被拔除。耶和華必把你們分散在萬民中，從地的這邊到地的另一邊，在那裏你必事奉你和你列祖不認識的神明，就是木頭和石頭。在那些國中，你必得不到安寧，腳掌也沒有安歇之處；耶和華卻要使你在那裏心中發顫，眼目失明，精神沮喪。你的一生懸空不安；你晝夜恐懼，生命沒有保障。你因心中的恐懼，眼睛所見的景象，早晨必說：『但願現在是晚上！』晚上必說：『但願現在是早晨！』耶和華要用船把你送回埃及去，走那我曾告訴你不再看見的路；在那裏你們必賣身給你的仇敵作奴婢，卻沒有人要買。」

萬國必說：『耶和華為甚麼向此地這樣做呢？為甚麼要大發烈怒呢？』人必說：『這是因為這地的人離棄了耶和華－他們列祖的上帝領他們出埃及地的時候與他們所立的約，去事奉別神，敬拜他們所不認識的神明，這是耶和華未曾允許的。所以耶和華的怒氣向這地發作，將這書上所寫的一切詛咒都降在這地上。耶和華在怒氣、憤怒、大惱恨中將他們從本地拔出來，扔到別的地上，像今日一樣。』

「耶和華必將你和你所立統治你的王，領到你和你列祖不認識的國去；在那裏你必事奉別神，就是木頭和石頭。

迦薩必遭遺棄，亞實基倫必然荒涼；亞實突人必在正午被趕出，以革倫也要連根拔除。

你們若不斷作惡，你們和你們的王必一同滅亡。」

何細亞第九年，亞述王攻取了撒瑪利亞，把以色列人擄到亞述，安置在哈臘與歌散的哈博河邊，以及瑪代人的城鎮。這是因為以色列人得罪了那領他們出埃及地、脫離埃及王法老之手的耶和華－他們的上帝，去敬畏別神，

地被他們離棄，因他們不在而荒涼的時候，就要重享安息。他們服了罪孽的懲罰，因為他們厭棄我的典章，心中厭惡我的律例。

因為他們在各高岡上，各青翠樹下築丘壇，立柱像和亞舍拉。國中也有男的廟妓。他們效法耶和華在以色列人面前所趕出的外邦人，行一切可憎惡的事。

約翰所差來的人一走，耶穌就對眾人談到約翰，說：「你們從前到曠野去，是要看甚麼呢？被吹動的蘆葦嗎？

但悖逆的和犯罪的必一同敗亡，離棄耶和華的必致消滅。那等人必因所喜愛的聖樹抱愧；你們必因所選擇的園子蒙羞，

他們一走，耶穌就對眾人談到約翰，說：「你們從前到曠野去，是要看甚麼呢？看風吹動的蘆葦嗎？

亞述王把以色列人擄到亞述，安置在哈臘與歌散的哈博河邊，以及瑪代人的城鎮。這是因為他們不聽從耶和華－他們的上帝的話，違背了他的約；他們既不聽從，也不遵行耶和華僕人摩西一切所吩咐的。

耶穌回答：「一切植物，若不是我天父栽植的，都要連根拔出來。

我要使這地變荒涼，甚至佔領這地的敵人都驚訝。我要把你們驅散到列國中，也要拔刀追趕你們。你們的地要成為荒涼，你們的城鎮要變成廢墟。「當你們在敵人之地的時候，你們的地要在一切荒涼的日子重享安息；在那時候，地要休息，重享安息。

你反倒行惡，比在你之前所有的人更嚴重；你離開了我，為自己立了別神，鑄了偶像，惹我發怒，將我丟在背後。

你們抬着摩洛的帳幕和理番－你們神明的星，就是你們所造為要敬拜的像。因此，我要把你們遷到巴比倫外去。』’

所以我要把你們擄到大馬士革以外。」這是耶和華說的，他的名為萬軍之上帝。
