And the Lord will strike Israel, so that it will be like a reed swaying in the water. He will uproot Israel from this good land that he gave to their ancestors and scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, because they aroused the Lord’s anger by making Asherah poles.

I, the Lord, will strike down Israel. Israel will be like tall grass swaying in the water. I will pull Israel up from this good land by the roots. I gave it to their people who lived long ago. I will scatter Israel to the east side of the Euphrates River. That is because they made the Lord very angry. They made poles used to worship the female god named Asherah.

Then the Lord will shake Israel like a reed whipped about in a stream. He will uproot the people of Israel from this good land that he gave their ancestors and will scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, for they have angered the Lord with the Asherah poles they have set up for worship.

For the LORD will strike Israel so that they will shake as a reed shakes in water. He will uproot Israel from this good soil that he gave to their ancestors. He will scatter them beyond the Euphrates because they made their Asherah poles, angering the LORD.

“ For the Lord will strike Israel, just as a reed sways in the water; and He will uproot Israel from this good land which He gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, because they have made their Asherim, provoking the Lord to anger.

耶和华你们的神应许你们的一切福气怎样临到你们身上，耶和华也必照样使各样的灾祸临到你们身上，直到把你们从耶和华你们的神赐给你们的这美地上消灭为止。如果你们违背了耶和华你们的神吩咐你们遵守的约，去事奉别的神，敬拜他们，耶和华必向你们大发烈怒，使你们从他赐给你们的美地上迅速灭亡。”

以色列王比加在位的日子，亚述王提革拉．毗列色前来，攻取了以云、亚伯．伯．玛迦、亚挪、基低斯、夏琐、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把居民掳到亚述去。

神必把你永远拆毁；他必把你挪去，把你从帐棚中揪出来，把你从活人之地连根拔起。（细拉）

他们的祭坛你们却要拆毁，他们的柱像你们要打碎，他们的亚舍拉你们要砍下。你不可敬拜别的神，因为耶和华是忌邪的神，他名为忌邪者。

也要拆毁他们的祭坛，打碎他们的神柱；用火焚烧他们的亚舍拉，砍倒他们的神的雕像，并且把他们的名字从这地方除灭。你们不可像他们那样事奉耶和华你的神。

但恶人必从地上除灭，行事奸诈的必从世上拔除。

以致最后耶和华把以色列人从自己的面前赶走，就像他藉着自己的仆人众先知所说的。于是以色列人被掳离开自己的国土，往亚述去，直到今日。

我今日就呼天唤地向你们作证，你们必在过约旦河取得为业的地上迅速灭亡；你们必不能在那地长久生存，必全被消灭。耶和华必使你们分散在万民中；在耶和华要领你们所到的万国中，你们剩下的人数必不多。

我不是在他们面前把亚摩利人消灭了吗？亚摩利人虽像香柏树高大，像橡树那样坚固；我却要灭绝它树上的果子，拔除树下的根。

先前耶和华怎样喜欢使你们得好处，使你们人数众多，将来也必怎样喜欢把你们灭亡，把你们消灭；你们必从要进去得为业的地上被拔除。耶和华必使你分散在万民中，从地的这边到地的那边；在那里你要事奉你和你的列祖不认识的别的神，就是木头和石头做的神。在那些国中，你必不得安息，也没有脚掌歇息的地方；耶和华却必使你在那里心中发颤，眼目憔悴，精神颓废。你未来的生命必悬而不定；你必昼夜恐惧，生命难保。因你心里的惧怕惊恐和你眼中看见的景象，早晨你必说：‘但愿现在是晚上！’晚上你必说：‘但愿现在是早晨！’耶和华必用船把你送回埃及去，走我曾经告诉你，你不得再见的那条路；在那里你们必卖身给你的仇敌作奴仆和作婢女，却没有人买。”

看见了这些的人和万国的人都要问：‘耶和华为什么向这地这样行呢？为什么大发烈怒呢？’人就必回答：‘是因为他们离弃了耶和华他们列祖的神的约，就是耶和华把他们从埃及地领出来的时候，与他们所立的；去事奉别的神，向他们叩拜，就是他们不认识的神，也是耶和华没有给他们指定要拜的神；所以耶和华向这地大发烈怒，把这书上所写的一切咒诅都降在这地上；于是耶和华在烈怒、忿怒和大怒中，把他们从他们的地土拔出来，丢在别的地方，像今天一样。’

耶和华必把你和你所立统治你的君王，领到你和你的列祖都不认识的国那里去；在那里你必事奉别的神，就是木头石头所做的神。

因为迦萨必被抛弃，亚实基伦必成荒场，亚实突的居民必在晌午被赶走；以革伦必连根拔起来。

如果你们继续行恶，你们和你们的王就必一同灭亡。”

何细亚在位第九年，亚述王占领了撒玛利亚，把以色列人掳到亚述去，安置他们在哈腊，在哈博河和歌散河一带，以及在玛代人的各城。这是因为以色列人得罪了那曾带领他们从埃及王法老的手下离开埃及的耶和华他们的神，去敬畏别的神。

他们会离开这地，地在荒凉无人的时候，就可以享受安息，同时他们要接受他们罪孽的刑罚，因为他们弃绝了我的典章，他们的心厌弃了我的律例。

他们又为自己在各高冈上，各茂盛树下建造邱坛、神柱和亚舍拉。国内又有男妓，他们仿效耶和华在以色列人面前所赶出的外族人，行了一切可憎的事。

约翰差来的人走了以后，耶稣对群众讲起约翰来，说：“你们到旷野去，是要看什么？被风吹动的芦苇吗？

但悖逆的和犯罪的，必一同灭亡，离弃耶和华的，也必灭亡。你们必因你们所喜爱的橡树抱愧，必因你们所选择的园子蒙羞。

他们走了之后，耶稣对群众讲起约翰来，说：“你们到旷野去，是要看什么？被风吹动的芦苇吗？

亚述王把以色列人掳到亚述去，把他们安置在哈腊、哈博河和歌散河，以及玛代人的城里；这是因为他们不听从耶和华他们神的话，违背他的约；耶和华的仆人摩西吩咐的一切，他们都不听从，不遵行。

耶稣说：“所有不是我天父栽种的植物，都要连根拔起来。

我要使地荒凉，连住在那里的仇敌也惊奇。我要把你们分散在万国中，我又拔出刀来追赶你们；你们的地成为荒凉，你们的城市变成荒场。“当那地荒凉，你们又住在仇敌之地的时候，地就享受安息；那地要休歇，享受安息。

你反倒行恶，比那些在你以前的更坏；又去为自己制造了别的神和铸造偶像惹我发怒，把我丢在背后。

你们抬着摩洛的帐幕，和理番神的星，就是你们做来敬拜的像。所以我要把你们放逐到巴比伦那一边去。’

我必使你们被掳，流亡到大马士革以外。这是耶和华说的，万军的神就是他的名。
