For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest.

For I was commanded by the word of the Lord:‘ You must not eat bread or drink water or return by the way you came.’”

The Lord gave me a command. He said,‘ Do not eat bread or drink water there. Do not return the same way you came.’ ”

for so was it commanded me by the word of the Lord, saying,‘ You shall neither eat bread nor drink water nor return by the way that you came.’”

For the Lord gave me this command:‘ You must not eat or drink anything while you are there, and do not return to Judah by the same way you came.’”

for this is what I was commanded by the word of the LORD:‘ You must not eat food or drink water or go back the way you came.’”

[ Certain] men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold,[ if it be] truth,[ and] the thing certain,[ that] such abomination is wrought among you;Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that[ is] therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do[ that which is] right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee,But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which[ the LORD] did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.

And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD[ as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey[ is] better than sacrifice,[ and] to hearken than the fat of rams.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove[ them].
