God met with him and Balaam said to him,“ I have arranged seven altars and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.”Then the LORD put a message in Balaam’s mouth and said,“ Return to Balak and say what I tell you.”

On that day many will say to me,‘ Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, drive out demons in your name, and do many miracles in your name?’

“ Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are prophesying. Say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination,‘ Hear the word of the LORD!

When Balaam looked up and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the Spirit of God came on him,

but received a rebuke for his lawlessness: A speechless donkey spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.

There were men passing by who saw the corpse thrown on the road and the lion standing beside it, and they went and spoke about it in the city where the old prophet lived.
