爾父使我負重軛、操作維艱、爾其輕我、我則役事爾。

“你父亲使我们负担沉重，求你减轻我们的负担吧，我们一定效忠你。”

“你父亲加给我们的重担，现在求你减轻你父亲使我们作的苦工和加在我们背上的重担，我们就服事你。”

“ Your father put a heavy yoke on us, but now lighten the harsh labor and the heavy yoke he put on us, and we will serve you.”

“ Your father put a heavy load on our shoulders. But now make our hard work easier. Make the heavy load on us lighter. Then we’ll serve you.”

“ Your father made our yoke heavy. Now therefore lighten the hard service of your father and his heavy yoke on us, and we will serve you.”

“ Your father was a hard master,” they said.“ Lighten the harsh labor demands and heavy taxes that your father imposed on us. Then we will be your loyal subjects.”

曰、既欲立王、治理爾曹、試陳其例。王必取爾子、使御車服馬、趨承於前者有之、立為千夫長、五十夫長者有之、使耕田畝、穫其所產、作戰具、製車器者、亦有之。王必取爾女、或為製餅餌、或為廚婢、或為膳女。又必取爾田畝、葡萄園、橄欖囿之嘉者。爾田所出、葡萄園所產、十取其一、供其宦豎、給其賤役。

又於以色列遍地立吏十二、月委其一、為王及眷聚採備食物。

所羅門王召人役事、以建耶和華之殿、及王宮室、與耶路撒冷之城垣、又建米羅、夏朔、米吉多、基色、

爾父使我負重軛、操作維艱、爾其輕我、我則役事爾。曰、三日後、爾眾來此可也。眾乃去。

我溫柔謙遜、負我軛而學我、則爾心獲安、蓋吾軛易、吾負輕也、

彼以重且難之任、縛而置人肩上、惟己則一指不肯動、

猶大以色列二族、眾如海濱之沙、不可勝數、皆飲食歡樂。所羅門轄眾國、自大河至非利士人地、及埃及境、皆進貢服役、以至於王之畢生。所羅門宮中食物、日供細麵一千八百斗、麥粉三千六百斗、肥牛十、在野之牛二十、羊一百、又有鹿麀、赤鹿、及肥禽。自大河之西、亦自的薩延及亞薩列王皆為所羅門所轄、四方平康。所羅門在位時、猶大以色列二族、自但及別是巴、各安其居、得蔭於葡萄及無花果樹下。

所羅門不使以色列族服役、乃使其為武士臣僕、牧伯軍長、及車騎之長。所羅門遣五百五十人、以轄操作之眾、而督其役。
