那時約拿單和亞希瑪斯在隱羅結那裏呆着；有一個婢女經常出來，將話告訴他們，他們就去告訴大衛王：他們不敢進城，恐怕給人看見。

和押沙龍一同去的有二百人、是從耶路撒冷被請的：這些人是天真無邪去的，並不知道甚麼事。押沙龍獻祭的時候、打發人去將大衛的參謀基羅人亞希多弗從他本城基羅請了來。於是謀叛的派勢強大起來；隨從押沙龍的人民也越來越多。

又從亞割山谷往北上底璧，直向谿谷南邊亞都冥坡對面的吉甲；那界線過到隱示麥水，其終點就在隱羅結；

惡人的祭物、永恆主所厭惡；正直人的祈禱、上帝所喜悅。

過了兩年工夫、在靠近以法蓮的巴力夏瑣有剪羊毛的人為押沙龍剪羊毛；押沙龍請王的眾子都到那裏。押沙龍來見王說：『看哪，現在有剪羊毛的人為僕人剪羊毛；請王和王的臣僕跟僕人一同去。』王對押沙龍說：『不，我兒；我們不必都去；你花費會太重。』押沙龍迫切地請王，王還是不情願去，只是給他祝福。押沙龍說：『不、求王許我哥哥暗嫩和我們一同去吧。』王對他說：『為甚麼要暗嫩和你一同去呢？』押沙龍迫切地求王，王就打發暗嫩和王的眾子跟他一同去。
