Now Adonijah and all the guests who were with him heard this as they finished eating. When Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said,“ Why is the city making such an uproar?”

Adonijah and all the guests who were with him heard it as they were finishing their feast. On hearing the sound of the trumpet, Joab asked,“ What’s the meaning of all the noise in the city?”

Adonijah and all his guests heard it. They were just finishing their meal. Joab heard the sound of the trumpet. So he asked,“ What does all this noise in the city mean?”

Adonijah and all the guests who were with him heard it as they finished feasting. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said,“ What does this uproar in the city mean?”

Adonijah and his guests heard the celebrating and shouting just as they were finishing their banquet. When Joab heard the sound of the ram’s horn, he asked,“ What’s going on? Why is the city in such an uproar?”

Adonijah and all the invited guests who were with him heard the noise as they finished eating. Joab heard the sound of the ram’s horn and said,“ Why is the town in such an uproar?”

Now Adonijah and all the guests who were with him heard it as they finished eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the horn, he said,“ Why is the city in such a noisy uproar?”

And Adonijah and all the guests that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an uproar?

Adonijah and all the invited guests who were with him heard the noise as they finished eating. Joab heard the sound of the ram’s horn and said,“ Why is the town in such an uproar?”

And Adonijah and all the guests that[ were] with him heard[ it] as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore[ is this] noise of the city being in an uproar?

Now Adonijah and all his guests heard the commotion just as they had finished eating. When Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he asked,“ Why is there such a noisy commotion in the city?”

Adonijah and all the guests who were with him heard it as they had finished eating. When Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said,“ Why is this noise of the city being in an uproar?”

But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that He had done, and the children who were shouting in the temple area,“ Hosanna to the Son of David,” they became indignant,

Even in laughter the heart may be in pain, And the end of joy may be grief.

Sounds of terror are in his ears; While he is at peace the destroyer comes upon him.He does not believe that he will return from darkness, And he is destined for the sword.

For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

You indeed put them on slippery ground; You dropped them into ruin.How they are destroyed in a moment! They are utterly swept away by sudden terrors!Like a dream when one awakes, Lord, when stirred, You will despise their image.

And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so will it also be in the days of the Son of Man:people were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, and they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, and they were building;but on the day that Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.

Now the crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting,“ Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest!”When He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying,“ Who is this?”And the crowds were saying,“ This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth in Galilee.”

Now when Joshua heard the sound of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses,“ There is a sound of war in the camp.”

While they were intent on killing him, a report came up to the commander of the Roman cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion.

The mind of the wise is in the house of mourning, While the mind of fools is in the house of pleasure.It is better to listen to the rebuke of a wise person Than for one to listen to the song of fools.For as the crackling of thorn bushes under a pot, So is the laughter of the fool; And this too is futility.

That the rejoicing of the wicked is short, And the joy of the godless momentary?
