Zadok the priest took the horn of oil from the sacred tent and anointed Solomon. Then they sounded the trumpet and all the people shouted,“ Long live King Solomon!”

Zadok the priest had taken an animal horn from the sacred tent. The horn was filled with olive oil. He anointed Solomon with the oil. A trumpet was blown. All the people shouted,“ May King Solomon live a long time!”

There Zadok the priest took the horn of oil from the tent and anointed Solomon. Then they blew the trumpet, and all the people said,“ Long live King Solomon!”

They held a feast before the LORD that day and celebrated. Then they designated Solomon, David’s son, as king a second time; before the LORD they anointed him as ruler and Zadok as priest.

There Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet will anoint him king over Israel; then blow the trumpet and declare,‘ Long live King Solomon!’

Then Samuel said to all the people,“ Do you see the one whom the LORD has chosen? Indeed, there is no one like him among all the people!” All the people shouted out,“ Long live the king!”

“ Take choice spices: twelve and a half pounds of free-flowing myrrh, half that– about six and a quarter pounds– of sweet-smelling cinnamon, six and a quarter pounds of sweet-smelling cane,and twelve and a half pounds of cassia, all weighed according to the sanctuary shekel, and four quarts of olive oil.You are to make this into a sacred anointing oil, a perfumed compound, the work of a perfumer. It will be sacred anointing oil.“ With it you are to anoint the tent of meeting, the ark of the testimony,the table and all its utensils, the lampstand and its utensils, the altar of incense,the altar for the burnt offering and all its utensils, and the laver and its base.So you are to sanctify them, and they will be most holy; anything that touches them will be holy.“ You are to anoint Aaron and his sons and sanctify them, so that they may minister as my priests.And you are to tell the Israelites:‘ This is to be my sacred anointing oil throughout your generations.It must not be applied to people’s bodies, and you must not make any like it with the same recipe. It is holy, and it must be holy to you.Whoever makes perfume like it and whoever puts any of it on someone not a priest will be cut off from his people.’”

Then she saw the king standing by his pillar at the entrance. The officers and trumpeters stood beside the king and all the people of the land were celebrating and blowing trumpets, and the musicians with various instruments were leading the celebration. Athaliah tore her clothes and yelled,“ Treason! Treason!”

Jehoiada led out the king’s son and placed on him the crown and the royal insignia. They proclaimed him king and poured olive oil on his head. They clapped their hands and cried out,“ Long live the king!”

So Samuel took the horn full of olive oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers. The Spirit of the LORD rushed upon David from that day onward. Then Samuel got up and went to Ramah.

For today he has gone down and sacrificed many cattle, steers, and sheep and has invited all the king’s sons, the army commanders, and Abiathar the priest. At this moment they are having a feast in his presence, and they have declared,‘ Long live King Adonijah!’

Jehoiada and his sons led out the king’s son and placed on him the crown and the royal insignia. They proclaimed him king and poured olive oil on his head. They declared,“ Long live the king!”
