上帝愛我我知而信之、上帝仁愛、恆愛者心交上帝、上帝亦心交彼、

天主愛我儕之愛、我儕已知且信、天主即愛也、恆愛者、即恆居天主內、天主亦恆居其內、

至天主對吾人所抱之愛德、則尤吾人所親知、而深信不疑者也。天主即是愛德、是故以愛德為安宅者、即是以天主為安宅、而天主亦以其人為安宅矣。

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

不愛者、不識上帝、蓋上帝即愛也、上帝遣獨生子入世、使我儕賴之而生、其愛由是而顯、非我嘗愛上帝、乃上帝愛我、遣其子為我罪作挽回之祭、愛即在於此也、

我儕已信、且知爾為上帝之聖者、

如經云、目未見、耳未聞、亦未入人之心者、即上帝為愛之者所備也、
