此生顯著、我儕曾見之而為證、且以語爾、即永生也、乃原偕父而顯著於我儕者、

永生之道、與父共在、顯著於我、我見之為證、即以授爾、

其生命已顯著、我見之為證、而以此永生、即原與父同在、而顯著於我儕者傳於爾、

此無始無終、向與聖父相俱之生命、曾現身於世。其在世時、吾人既得親炙、爰為作證、而宣之於爾。

The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.

This life has appeared. We have seen him. We are witnesses about him. And we announce to you this same eternal life. He was already with the Father. He has appeared to us.

敬虔的奧祕真偉大啊，這是眾人所公認的，就是：“他在肉身顯現，在聖靈裡稱義（“在聖靈裡稱義”或譯：“被聖靈稱義”），被天使看見；被傳於列國，被世人信服，被接到榮耀裡。”

犯罪的是出於魔鬼，因為魔鬼從起初就犯罪。因此，神的兒子顯現了，是要除滅魔鬼的作為。

你們也要作見證，因為從開始你們就是跟我在一起的。”

這都是根據永生的盼望，這永生就是沒有謊言的神在萬世以前所應許的。

在耶和華創造的開始，在太初創造一切以先，就有了我。在亙古、在太初，在未有大地之前，我已經被立；沒有深淵，沒有大水的泉源以先，我已經出生。大山未曾奠定，小山未有以先，我已經出生。那時，耶和華還沒有造大地和田野，也沒有造地上的泥土。他立定諸天的時候，我在那裡；他在淵面上界劃地平線的時候，我在那裡；他上使穹蒼堅固，下使深淵的水泉穩定；他為海洋定出界限，海水不能越過他的命令，他又劃定大地的根基；那時，我在他身邊作工匠，每天都充滿喜樂，時常在他面前歡笑，

耶穌對他說：“我就是道路、真理、生命，如果不是藉著我，沒有人能到父那裡去。

太初有道，道與神同在，道就是神。這道太初與神同在。

你們殺了那‘生命的創始者’，神卻使他從死人中復活。我們就是這件事的見證人。

但現在藉著我們救主基督耶穌的顯現，才表明出來。他廢掉了死亡，藉著福音把生命和不朽彰顯出來。

我從父那裡來，到了這世界；我又離開這世界，到父那裡去。”

我這同作長老，也是為基督受苦作見證，又是同享將來所要顯現的榮耀的，勸你們當中作長老的：

父啊，現在讓我在你自己面前得著榮耀，就是在創世以前我與你同享的榮耀。

這是耶穌從死人中復活之後，第三次向門徒顯現。

除了那從天上降下來的人子（有些抄本作“除了那從天上降下來仍舊在天上的人子”），沒有人升過天。

這位耶穌，神已經使他復活了，我們都是這事的見證人。

不是顯現給所有的人看，而是給神預先揀選的見證人看，就是我們這些在他從死人中復活之後，與他一同吃喝的人。

我所說的，是我在父那裡看見的；但你們所作的，卻是從你們的父那裡聽見的。”
