那麼，我的報償到底是什麼呢？就是：我傳福音的時候，能免費地提供福音，好使我不會充分利用在福音工作上屬自己的權利。

然則我之賞維何、即宣福音、使人不費而得之、免我盡用福音之權也、

我自詡何歟、即傳基督福音、未嘗傷人之財、雖有權、而我不妄用其權、

然則我之賞何歟、即我傳基督之福音、使人無所費而得、不妄用我在福音所有之權、

然則吾果無報酬乎？曰：正惟吾傳福音而不受酬、而不享受權利、酬在其中矣。

What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights as a preacher of the gospel.

Then what reward do I get? Here is what it is. I am able to preach the good news free of charge. And I can do this without using all my rights as a person who preaches the good news.

What then is my reward? That in my preaching I may present the gospel free of charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

What then is my pay? It is the opportunity to preach the Good News without charging anyone. That’s why I never demand my rights when I preach the Good News.

What then is my reward? To preach the gospel and offer it free of charge and not make full use of my rights in the gospel.

What, then, is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may offer the gospel without charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.

What then is my reward? To preach the gospel and offer it free of charge and not make full use of my authority in the gospel.

What is my reward then?[ Verily] that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

我們不是傳自己，而是傳耶穌基督為主，並且自己因耶穌作你們的僕人。

只有我和巴拿巴沒有權利不做工嗎？有誰當兵而自備糧餉呢？有誰栽葡萄園而不吃園裏的果子呢？有誰牧養牛羊而不喝牛羊的奶呢？

可是，你們要謹慎，免得你們這自由竟成了軟弱人的絆腳石。

也從未白吃人的飯，倒是辛苦勞碌，晝夜做工，免得使你們中間有人受累。這並不是因我們沒有權柄，而是要給你們作榜樣，好讓你們效法我們。

但要像我一樣，凡事都使眾人喜歡，不求自己的益處，只求眾人的益處，使他們得救。

享受這世界的，不像在享受這世界；因為這世界的局面將要過去了。

我們作為基督的使徒，雖然可以受人尊重，卻沒有向你們或向別人求榮耀，反而在你們當中心存溫柔，如同母親哺乳自己的孩子。

我貶低自己，為了使你們高升，因為我白白地傳上帝的福音給你們，難道這算是我犯了錯嗎？我剝奪了別的教會，向他們取了報酬來效勞你們。我在你們那裏有缺乏的時候，並沒有連累你們一個人，因為我所缺乏的，那些從馬其頓來的弟兄都補足了。我向來凡事謹慎，將來也必謹慎，總不要連累你們。

除了我不曾連累你們這一件事，你們還有甚麼事不及別的教會呢？這不公平之處，請你們饒恕我吧。如今，我準備第三次到你們那裏去。我仍不會連累你們，因為我所求的是你們，不是你們的財物。兒女不該為父母積財，父母該為兒女積財。我也甘心樂意為你們的靈魂費財費力。難道我越愛你們，就越少得你們的愛嗎？罷了，我自己並沒有連累你們，你們卻有人說，我施詭詐，用心計牢籠你們。我所差遣到你們那裏去的人，我何曾藉着他們中的任何人佔過你們的便宜呢？我勸提多到你們那裏去，又差遣那位弟兄與他同去，提多佔過你們的便宜嗎？我們的行事為人不是同一心靈嗎？不是同一步伐嗎？

你若因食物使弟兄憂愁，就不是按着愛心行事。基督已經為他死，你不可因你的食物使他敗壞。
