What is my reward then?[ Verily] that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

既是这样，我的赏赐是什么呢？就是我传福音的时候叫人不花钱得福音，免得用尽我传福音的权柄。

然則我之賞維何、即宣福音、使人不費而得之、免我盡用福音之權也、

我自詡何歟、即傳基督福音、未嘗傷人之財、雖有權、而我不妄用其權、

然則我之賞何歟、即我傳基督之福音、使人無所費而得、不妄用我在福音所有之權、

然則吾果無報酬乎？曰：正惟吾傳福音而不受酬、而不享受權利、酬在其中矣。

What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights as a preacher of the gospel.

Then what reward do I get? Here is what it is. I am able to preach the good news free of charge. And I can do this without using all my rights as a person who preaches the good news.

What then is my reward? That in my preaching I may present the gospel free of charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

What then is my pay? It is the opportunity to preach the Good News without charging anyone. That’s why I never demand my rights when I preach the Good News.

What then is my reward? To preach the gospel and offer it free of charge and not make full use of my rights in the gospel.

What, then, is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may offer the gospel without charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.

Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?

But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.

Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

Even as I please all[ men] in all[ things], not seeking mine own profit, but the[ profit] of many, that they may be saved.

And they that use this world, as not abusing[ it]: for the fashion of this world passeth away.

Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor[ yet] of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?I robbed other churches, taking wages[ of them], to do you service.And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all[ things] I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and[ so] will I keep[ myself].

For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except[ it be] that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong.Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you?I desired Titus, and with[ him] I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit?[ walked we] not in the same steps?

But if thy brother be grieved with[ thy] meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
