What then is my reward? That in my preaching I may present the gospel free of charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

然則我之賞維何、即宣福音、使人不費而得之、免我盡用福音之權也、

我自詡何歟、即傳基督福音、未嘗傷人之財、雖有權、而我不妄用其權、

然則我之賞何歟、即我傳基督之福音、使人無所費而得、不妄用我在福音所有之權、

然則吾果無報酬乎？曰：正惟吾傳福音而不受酬、而不享受權利、酬在其中矣。

What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights as a preacher of the gospel.

Then what reward do I get? Here is what it is. I am able to preach the good news free of charge. And I can do this without using all my rights as a person who preaches the good news.

What then is my pay? It is the opportunity to preach the Good News without charging anyone. That’s why I never demand my rights when I preach the Good News.

What then is my reward? To preach the gospel and offer it free of charge and not make full use of my rights in the gospel.

What, then, is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may offer the gospel without charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.

For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no right to refrain from working for a living?Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard without eating any of its fruit? Or who tends a flock without getting some of the milk?

But take care that this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.

nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you.It was not because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves an example to imitate.

just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.

and those who deal with the world as though they had no dealings with it. For the present form of this world is passing away.

Nor did we seek glory from people, whether from you or from others, though we could have made demands as apostles of Christ.

Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself so that you might be exalted, because I preached God’s gospel to you free of charge?I robbed other churches by accepting support from them in order to serve you.And when I was with you and was in need, I did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my need. So I refrained and will refrain from burdening you in any way.

For in what were you less favored than the rest of the churches, except that I myself did not burden you? Forgive me this wrong!Here for the third time I am ready to come to you.
