然則我之賞維何、即宣福音、使人不費而得之、免我盡用福音之權也、

我自詡何歟、即傳基督福音、未嘗傷人之財、雖有權、而我不妄用其權、

然則我之賞何歟、即我傳基督之福音、使人無所費而得、不妄用我在福音所有之權、

然則吾果無報酬乎？曰：正惟吾傳福音而不受酬、而不享受權利、酬在其中矣。

What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights as a preacher of the gospel.

Then what reward do I get? Here is what it is. I am able to preach the good news free of charge. And I can do this without using all my rights as a person who preaches the good news.

What then is my reward? That in my preaching I may present the gospel free of charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

What then is my pay? It is the opportunity to preach the Good News without charging anyone. That’s why I never demand my rights when I preach the Good News.

What is my reward then?[ Verily] that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

What then is my reward? That when I preach the Good News, I may present the Good News of Christ without charge, so as not to abuse my authority in the Good News.

我们原不是传自己，乃是传基督耶稣为主，并且自己因耶稣作你们的仆人。

独有我与巴拿巴没有权柄不做工吗？有谁当兵自备粮饷呢？有谁栽葡萄园不吃园里的果子呢？有谁牧养牛羊不吃牛羊的奶呢？

只是你们要谨慎，恐怕你们这自由竟成了那软弱人的绊脚石。

也未尝白吃人的饭，倒是辛苦劳碌，昼夜做工，免得叫你们一人受累。这并不是因我们没有权柄，乃是要给你们作榜样，叫你们效法我们。

就好像我凡事都叫众人喜欢，不求自己的益处，只求众人的益处，叫他们得救。

用世物的，要像不用世物，因为这世界的样子将要过去了。

我们作基督的使徒，虽然可以叫人尊重，却没有向你们或向别人求荣耀；

我因为白白传神的福音给你们，就自居卑微，叫你们高升，这算是我犯罪吗？我亏负了别的教会，向他们取了工价来给你们效力。我在你们那里缺乏的时候，并没有累着你们一个人；因我所缺乏的，那从马其顿来的弟兄们都补足了。我向来凡事谨守，后来也必谨守，总不至于累着你们。

除了我不累着你们这一件事，你们还有什么事不及别的教会呢？这不公之处，求你们饶恕我吧。如今，我打算第三次到你们那里去，也必不累着你们；因我所求的是你们，不是你们的财物。儿女不该为父母积财，父母该为儿女积财。我也甘心乐意为你们的灵魂费财费力。难道我越发爱你们，就越发少得你们的爱吗？罢了，我自己并没有累着你们，你们却有人说，我是诡诈，用心计牢笼你们。我所差到你们那里去的人，我藉着他们一个人占过你们的便宜吗？我劝了提多到你们那里去，又差那位兄弟与他同去。提多占过你们的便宜吗？我们行事，不同是一个心灵吗？不同是一个脚踪吗？

你若因食物叫弟兄忧愁，就不是按着爱人的道理行。基督已经替他死，你不可因你的食物叫他败坏。
