But I have not used any of these rights. And I am not writing this in the hope that you will do such things for me, for I would rather die than allow anyone to deprive me of this boast.

For my part I have used none of these rights, nor have I written these things that they may be applied in my case. For it would be better for me to die than for anyone to deprive me of my boast!

I have kept myself, and will keep myself, from burdening you in any way.As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be stopped in the regions of Achaia.Why? Because I don’t love you? God knows I do!But I will continue to do what I am doing, in order to deny the opportunity of those who want an opportunity to be regarded just as our equals in what they boast about.

If others have this right to receive benefits from you, don’t we even more? However, we have not made use of this right; instead we endure everything so that we will not hinder the gospel of Christ.

we did not eat anyone’s food free of charge; instead, we labored and struggled, working night and day, so that we would not be a burden to any of you.

and being of the same occupation, stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade.

My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all boldness, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death.For me, living is Christ and dying is gain.Now if I live on in the flesh, this means fruitful work for me; and I don’t know which one I should choose.I am pressured by both. I have the desire to depart and be with Christ— which is far better—
