To the married I give this charge( not I, but the Lord): the wife should not separate from her husband

至於已有家室者、予有命焉、豈第予命實主命也：妻不得離其夫、

To the married I give this command( not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband.

I give a command to those who are married. It is a direct command from the Lord, not from me. A wife must not leave her husband.

But for those who are married, I have a command that comes not from me, but from the Lord. A wife must not leave her husband.

To the married I give this command— not I, but the Lord— a wife is not to leave her husband.

But to the married I give instructions, not I, but the Lord, that the wife is not to leave her husband

Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband.

But unto the married I give charge, yea not I, but the Lord, That the wife depart not from her husband

I command the married— not I, but the Lord— a wife is not to leave her husband.

And unto the married I command,[ yet] not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from[ her] husband:

To the married I give this command– not I, but the Lord– a wife should not divorce a husband

But to the married I command— not I, but the Lord— that the wife not leave her husband

But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

“ Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.

And Pharisees came up to him and tested him by asking,“ Is it lawful to divorce one’s wife for any cause?”He answered,“ Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female,and said,‘ Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”They said to him,“ Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?”He said to them,“ Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”

But you say,“ Why does he not?” Because the Lord was witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.Did he not make them one, with a portion of the Spirit in their union? And what was the one God seeking? Godly offspring. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and let none of you be faithless to the wife of your youth.“ For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the Lord, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless.”

And he said to them,“ Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her,and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

Surely, as a treacherous wife leaves her husband, so have you been treacherous to me, O house of Israel, declares the Lord.’”

But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace.

To the rest I say( I, not the Lord) that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he should not divorce her.

Yet in my judgment she is happier if she remains as she is. And I think that I too have the Spirit of God.

Now as a concession, not a command, I say this.

Now concerning the betrothed, I have no command from the Lord, but I give my judgment as one who by the Lord’s mercy is trustworthy.
