誰能使我們與基督的愛隔絕呢？難道是患難嗎？是困苦嗎？是迫害嗎？是飢餓嗎？是赤身露體嗎？是危險嗎？是刀劍嗎？

他們是基督的用人嗎？我說句狂話，我更是。我比他們忍受更多勞苦，坐過更多次監牢，受過無數次的鞭打，常常冒死。我被猶太人鞭打五次，每次四十減去一下；被棍打了三次，被石頭打了一次，遭海難三次，一晝一夜在深海裏掙扎。我又屢次行遠路，遭江河的危險，盜賊的危險，同族人的危險，外族人的危險，城裏的危險，曠野的危險，海中的危險，假弟兄的危險。我勞碌困苦，常常失眠，又飢又渴，忍飢耐寒，赤身露體。

我知道怎樣處卑賤，也知道怎樣處豐富；或飽足或飢餓，或有餘或缺乏，任何事情，任何景況，我都得了祕訣。

以及我在安提阿、以哥念、路司得所遭遇的迫害和苦難。我忍受了何等的迫害！但從這一切苦難中，主都把我救了出來。

耶穌說：「狐狸有洞，天空的飛鳥有窩，人子卻沒有枕頭的地方。」

但有些猶太人，從安提阿和以哥念來，挑唆眾人，並且用石頭打保羅，以為他死了，就把他拖到城外。

因你無故強取弟兄的抵押，剝去赤身者的衣服。

難道我們沒有權利靠着傳福音吃喝嗎？

亞拿尼亞大祭司就吩咐旁邊站着的人打他的嘴。

反倒在各樣的事上表明自己是上帝的用人：就如在持久的忍耐、患難、困苦、災難、鞭打、監禁、動亂、勞碌、失眠、飢餓、

我們處處受困，卻不被捆住；內心困擾，卻沒有絕望；

打了許多棍，就把他們下在監裏，囑咐獄警嚴緊看守。
