For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement,“ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.

But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And yet, I am going to show you a far better way.If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant.It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered,it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away with; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away with.For we know in part and prophesy in part;but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away with.When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I also have been fully known.But now faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.Pursue love, yet earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the Law.For this,“ You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying,“ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law.

For if because of food your brother or sister is hurt, you are no longer walking in accordance with love. Do not destroy with your choice of food that person for whom Christ died.

Now concerning food sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge makes one conceited, but love edifies people.

But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from a sincere faith.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Now as to the love of the brothers and sisters, you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;for indeed you practice it toward all the brothers and sisters who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers and sisters, to excel even more,

Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

Beloved, let’s love one another; for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is only fitting, because your faith is increasing abundantly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another grows ever greater.

Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves;

This I command you, that you love one another.

But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and has brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you always think kindly of us, longing to see us just as we also long to see you,

and may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you;
