And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

雖有先知之明、能探諸奧妙、得諸知識、信德俱備、能以移山、若無愛、則無益、

使我無愛德、而具先知之靈賦、心通一切玄妙、一切知識、甚至有移山之信、則亦浮華無實耳。

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

Suppose I have the gift of prophecy. Suppose I can understand all the secret things of God and know everything about him. And suppose I have enough faith to move mountains. If I don’t have love, I am nothing at all.

If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.

If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

He said to them,“ Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain,‘ Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

And Jesus answered them,“ Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain,‘ Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come!

When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ,

and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel,

Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

If anyone says,“ I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it,“ May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.

Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages

For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.

the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints.

And he answered them,“ To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

For neither circumcision counts for anything nor uncircumcision, but keeping the commandments of God.

The apostles said to the Lord,“ Increase our faith!”And the Lord said,“ If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree,‘ Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

Now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching?If even lifeless instruments, such as the flute or the harp, do not give distinct notes, how will anyone know what is played?And if the bugle gives an indistinct sound, who will get ready for battle?So with yourselves, if with your tongue you utter speech that is not intelligible, how will anyone know what is said? For you will be speaking into the air.

And Jesus answered them,“ Have faith in God.Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain,‘ Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.

Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that“ an idol has no real existence,” and that“ there is no God but one.”

On that day many will say to me,‘ Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’And then will I declare to them,‘ I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

And he took up his discourse and said,“ The oracle of Balaam the son of Beor, the oracle of the man whose eye is opened,the oracle of him who hears the words of God, and knows the knowledge of the Most High, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down with his eyes uncovered:I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near: a star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel; it shall crush the forehead of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth.Edom shall be dispossessed; Seir also, his enemies, shall be dispossessed. Israel is doing valiantly.And one from Jacob shall exercise dominion and destroy the survivors of cities!”Then he looked on Amalek and took up his discourse and said,“ Amalek was the first among the nations, but its end is utter destruction.”And he looked on the Kenite, and took up his discourse and said,“ Enduring is your dwelling place, and your nest is set in the rock.Nevertheless, Kain shall be burned when Asshur takes you away captive.”And he took up his discourse and said,“ Alas, who shall live when God does this?But ships shall come from Kittim and shall afflict Asshur and Eber; and he too shall come to utter destruction.”

This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

So, my brothers, earnestly desire to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.

I have been a fool! You forced me to it, for I ought to have been commended by you. For I was not at all inferior to these super-apostles, even though I am nothing.
