我若能言諸國諸天使之言而無愛、則猶鳴金響鈸、

我如能言諸國方言、與天使之言、而無仁、則猶鳴金敲鈸、

我雖能言世人及天使之言、若無愛、則如鳴鉦響鈸、

使我無愛德、而徒能操萬國之音、作天神之語、則猶鳴鑼擊鈸而已矣。

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

Suppose I speak in the languages of human beings or of angels. If I don’t have love, I am only a loud gong or a noisy cymbal.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I speak human or angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. (niv)

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. (niv)

For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. (niv)

Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? (niv)

To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, (niv)

If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died. (niv)

was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell. (niv)

And if the ear should say,“ Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. (niv)
