第爾等當知基督為世人之乾綱、男為女之乾綱、而天主為基督之乾綱也。

But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.

教會體也、基督其首也。渠實無始之始、亦首先自死中復活者也。

爾則屬於基督、而基督屬於天主。

殊不知元首為全體之綱領、全體之筋脈骨節、賴之以生、賴之以固、賴之以調暢滋長於天主懷中。

務須篤守真諦、涵養愛德、日漸月漬、暢茂條達、庶克仰配為吾人元首之基督。

在昔懿德之婦、亦莫不以此自飾、仰望天主、敬事其夫。灑蕾之事亞伯漢也、惟命是從且呼之為「夫子」焉。爾若孳孳為善、不畏艱危、則可為灑蕾之女矣。

妻之事夫、當如事主、蓋夫為妻之乾綱、亦如基督之為教會乾綱、而覆育全身也。是故為妻者當順從其夫、一如教會之順從基督。

為婦者應順服其夫、夫即不信聖道、亦當以平日行為感化之不必徒騰口說也。

為妻者應順服其夫、此為宗主者之所宜。

婦人宜淵默受教、一心順服、不可令其施教、或掌管男子。幽嫻恬靜、是為婦德。

乃屈尊紆貴、甘自為僕、而降生為人。其為人也、復謙之又謙、損之又損、惟天主之命是從；鞠躬盡瘁、死而後已、終至致命於十字架上。因是天主亦舉之於萬有之上、鍚以聖名、舉世無匹、萬古流芳、使天上人間乃至地下一切生靈、莫不聞其名而屈膝、眾口同聲、咸稱耶穌基督為主、而歸榮於天主聖父焉。

彼乃一切爵品權品天神之元首也。爾等惟體基督乃臻充實之美。

爾已聞予言之、予去當復來、爾若真愛予者、則宜因予歸父而喜、以父實大於予也。

此亦天主制伏萬物於基督足下之真義也。雖謂萬物皆受其制、然制之者、固未始受其制也。是故萬物既經制伏、聖子亦必受制於制萬有於其下者、務使天主庇覆萬有、統於一尊而後已。

蓋此神力、天主實已先施於基督之身、起之於死中、升之於諸天、位之於己右、超軼乎一切爵、權、德、統、諸品天神、及今世來世一切可名之名之上。置天地萬物於其足下、立之為全教會至高無上之元首、而以教會為其身軀。蓋基督涵覆萬有、而教會實為之輔翼也。

蓋父之所行、子亦行焉。父篤愛其子、凡其所行、悉以示之；其所示者將有更大於斯者、爾將不勝駭異矣。蓋正如父之起死活人、子亦從心所欲、而賦人以生命。父不予人以黜陟、黜陟之權、已委之於子、欲使眾人敬子如敬父、凡不敬子者、即不敬遣子之父也。予切實告爾、人能聽從吾言、而信仰遣予來者、莫不享受永生、而免譴責、蓋已出死而入生矣。予切實語爾、時將屆矣、今即是也、死者當聞天主聖子之音、而聞之者咸得生焉。蓋父自具生命、賜子亦自具生命。以其為人子故、委以黜陟之權。慎勿以此為怪、蓋時有必至、凡在墓中者當聞厥音而興、善者復活以享永生、惡者復活以受天罰。予不能有所擅行、惟依予之所聞、而為黜陟、予既不徇私意、一遵遣予者之意而行故予之黜陟、乃公正無偏。

天主所遣者、傳天主之訓、以天主賦以聖神、無有限量故、聖父篤愛聖子、已將一切授諸其手矣。信仰聖子者、獲永生；不順聖子者、無以望生、天主譴怒、恆臨其身。』

嚮者父授子以統治元元之權、欲其以永生溥施父所授子之人也。人能識父為唯一真宰、及父所遣之耶穌基督、則永生即在斯中。予在地上、已歸榮於父、父所委予之使命、已告圓滿；今求吾父、賜予偕享創世前與父共有之榮！

耶穌進前曰：『天上地下一切諸權、已賦於我。
