第二天清晨，百姓都上前来献燔祭和平安祭，献完祭后就坐下吃喝，起来狂欢。耶和华对摩西说：“你快下山吧，你的百姓，就是你从埃及领出来的那些人已经败坏了。他们这么快就偏离了我吩咐他们走的道路，为自己造了一头牛犊来叩拜献祭，说，‘以色列人啊，这就是把你们带出埃及的神明。’”

他们在何烈山铸造牛犊，祭拜偶像，他们把荣耀的上帝变成了吃草之牛的铸像。

对我说，‘快下山吧，你从埃及领出来的百姓已经败坏了。他们这么快就偏离了我吩咐他们走的道，为自己铸造了神像。’

你们岂不知道不义的人不能承受上帝的国吗？不要自欺，一切淫乱的、拜偶像的、通奸的、变态的、同性恋的、

我的意思是，若有人自称是信徒，却淫乱、贪婪、祭拜偶像、毁谤、酗酒、欺诈，你们不要和他们交往，甚至不要和他们一起吃饭。

看见你们为自己铸造了牛犊像，得罪了你们的上帝耶和华，这么快就偏离了耶和华吩咐你们走的道，就当着你们的面摔碎了那两块石版。“我又俯伏在耶和华面前，四十昼夜不吃不喝，因为你们犯了大罪，做耶和华憎恶的事，惹祂发怒。耶和华向你们发烈怒，要毁灭你们，我非常惧怕。但耶和华再次垂听了我的祈求。耶和华对亚伦非常愤怒，以致要杀掉他，于是我也为他祈求。我焚烧了你们铸造的罪恶之物——牛犊像，把它磨成细粉，撒在从山上流下来的溪水中。

所以，我亲爱的弟兄姊妹，你们要远避祭拜偶像的事。

约书亚听见山下百姓嘈杂的喊叫声，便对摩西说：“营地里有打仗的声音。”

亚伦用这些金耳环铸造了一头牛犊。他们说：“以色列人啊，这就是把你们带出埃及的神明。”

摩西走近营地的时候，看见牛犊，又看见百姓在跳舞，心中大怒，便把手上的两块石版摔碎在山脚下，

弟兄姊妹，你们的思想不要像小孩子，要长大成熟，但在罪恶的事上要像婴孩。律法书上记载：“主说，‘我要借着讲陌生语言的人和外邦人的口向这些子民说话。虽然如此，他们仍然不听从我。’”由此可见，讲方言不是显给信徒的标记，而是显给非信徒的标记；但先知讲道是显给信徒的标记，不是显给非信徒的标记。

不过，并不是所有的人都有这种知识。有些人因为以前拜惯了偶像，现在吃到某些食物就觉得是祭过偶像的，因而良心不安，觉得自己被玷污了。
