Be sober and self- controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

You have not yet resisted to blood, striving against sin.

We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

For when I am weak, then am I strong.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh,“ thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.

and said to them,“ Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

If it happens, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.I and the Father are one.”

Take, brothers, for an example of suffering and of perseverance, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.Behold, we call them blessed who endured. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and have seen the Lord in the outcome, and how the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

Know therefore that Yahweh your God himself is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with them who love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations,

who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials,that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ—

See now, this city is near to flee to, and it is a little one. Oh let me escape there( isn’t it a little one?), and my soul will live.”He said to him,“ Behold, I have granted your request concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken.

For the scepter of wickedness won’t remain over the allotment of the righteous; so that the righteous won’t use their hands to do evil.

I am more so: in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, and in deaths often.Five times I received forty stripes minus one from the Jews.Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I suffered shipwreck. I have been a night and a day in the deep.I have been in travels often, perils of rivers, perils of robbers, perils from my countrymen, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the city, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, perils among false brothers;in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, and in cold and nakedness.Besides those things that are outside, there is that which presses on me daily: anxiety for all the assemblies.

Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler’s snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.

Women received their dead by resurrection. Others were tortured, not accepting their deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.Others were tried by mocking and scourging, yes, moreover by bonds and imprisonment.They were stoned. They were sawn apart. They were tempted. They were slain with the sword. They went around in sheep skins and in goat skins; being destitute, afflicted, ill- treated—of whom the world was not worthy— wandering in deserts, mountains, caves, and the holes of the earth.

Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers:“ Kings shall see and rise up, princes, and they shall worship, because of Yahweh who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

The Lord said,“ Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have all of you, that he might sift you as wheat,but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers.”

and the rest should follow, some on planks, and some on other things from the ship. So they all escaped safely to the land.

But I will not completely take my loving kindness from him, nor allow my faithfulness to fail.

I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it is called Faithful and True. In righteousness he judges and makes war.

I will even betroth you to me in faithfulness; and you shall know Yahweh.

Your loving kindness, Yahweh, is in the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
