且吾不欲兄弟之昧於史訓也。昔吾列祖、悉皆托庇祥雲、行經滄海；

For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.

Brothers and sisters, I want you to know something about our people who lived long ago. They were all led by the cloud. They all walked through the Red Sea.

For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,

I don’t want you to forget, dear brothers and sisters, about our ancestors in the wilderness long ago. All of them were guided by a cloud that moved ahead of them, and all of them walked through the sea on dry ground.

Now I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud, all passed through the sea,

You divided the sea before them, so that they passed through it on dry ground, but you hurled their pursuers into the depths, like a stone into mighty waters.By day you led them with a pillar of cloud, and by night with a pillar of fire to give them light on the way they were to take. (niv)

He spread out a cloud as a covering, and a fire to give light at night. (niv)

When our ancestors were in Egypt, they gave no thought to your miracles; they did not remember your many kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea.Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, to make his mighty power known.He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; he led them through the depths as through a desert.He saved them from the hand of the foe; from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them.The waters covered their adversaries; not one of them survived. But if anyone ignores this, they will themselves be ignored. (niv)

By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned. (niv)

He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot— come, let us rejoice in him. (niv)

Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. (niv)

For the Lord your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The Lord your God did to the Jordan what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over. (niv)

And they will tell the inhabitants of this land about it. They have already heard that you, Lord, are with these people and that you, Lord, have been seen face to face, that your cloud stays over them, and that you go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. (niv)

He guided them safely, so they were unafraid; but the sea engulfed their enemies. (niv)

They left Pi Hahiroth and passed through the sea into the desert, and when they had traveled for three days in the Desert of Etham, they camped at Marah. (niv)

Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. (niv)

The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.“ If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, (niv)

“ Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the wilderness. By day the pillar of cloud did not fail to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take. (niv)

The waters saw you, God, the waters saw you and writhed; the very depths were convulsed.The clouds poured down water, the heavens resounded with thunder; your arrows flashed back and forth.Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked.Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen.You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron. to him who divided the Red Sea asunder His love endures forever.and brought Israel through the midst of it, His love endures forever.but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea; His love endures forever. (niv)

who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go. (niv)

The sea looked and fled, the Jordan turned back;the mountains leaped like rams, the hills like lambs.Why was it, sea, that you fled? Why, Jordan, did you turn back? (niv)

And he received circumcision as a sign, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them. (niv)

Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them,coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided,and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. (niv)

On the day the tabernacle, the tent of the covenant law, was set up, the cloud covered it. From evening till morning the cloud above the tabernacle looked like fire.That is how it continued to be; the cloud covered it, and at night it looked like fire.Whenever the cloud lifted from above the tent, the Israelites set out; wherever the cloud settled, the Israelites encamped.At the Lord’s command the Israelites set out, and at his command they encamped. As long as the cloud stayed over the tabernacle, they remained in camp.When the cloud remained over the tabernacle a long time, the Israelites obeyed the Lord’s order and did not set out.Sometimes the cloud was over the tabernacle only a few days; at the Lord’s command they would encamp, and then at his command they would set out.Sometimes the cloud stayed only from evening till morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they set out. Whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud lifted, they set out.Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out. (niv)

For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. (niv)

Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.” (niv)

If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (niv)

And I saw what looked like a sea of glass glowing with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and its image and over the number of its name. They held harps given them by Godand sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb:“ Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people. (niv)
