命令一出，以色列人就把初熟的五穀、新酒、新油、蜜和田地的出產多多送來；他們把各樣出產的十分之一大量送來。住猶大各城的以色列人和猶大人也將牛羊的十分之一，以及分別為聖歸耶和華－他們上帝之物，就是十分取一之物，盡都送來，積成一堆一堆；他們從三月開始堆積，到七月才完成。希西家和眾領袖來，看見這些堆積物，就稱頌耶和華，又為耶和華的百姓以色列祝福。希西家向祭司和利未人查問這些堆積物。撒督家的亞撒利雅祭司長告訴他說：「自從禮物開始送到耶和華的殿以來，我們不但吃飽，而且剩下的很多；因為耶和華賜福給他的百姓，所剩下的才這樣豐盛。」希西家吩咐要在耶和華殿裏預備倉房，他們就預備了。他們誠心將禮物，十分取一之物，就是分別為聖之物，都搬入倉內。利未人歌楠雅主管這事，他的兄弟示每是副主管。

利未人中有亞希雅管理上帝殿的庫房和聖物的庫房。拉但子孫中，革順族屬拉但、作族長的是革順族屬拉但的耶希伊利。耶希伊利的兒子西坦和他兄弟約珥管理耶和華殿的庫房。暗蘭人、以斯哈人、希伯倫人、烏薛人也有職務。摩西的孫子，革舜的兒子細布業管理庫房。還有他的弟兄：以利以謝，以利以謝的兒子利哈比雅，利哈比雅的兒子耶篩亞，耶篩亞的兒子約蘭，約蘭的兒子細基利，細基利的兒子示羅密。這示羅密和他的兄弟管理一切庫房的聖物，就是大衛王和眾族長、千夫長、百夫長，以及軍官所分別為聖之物。他們把打仗時奪取的一些財物分別為聖，用來修造耶和華的殿。

為多比雅預備了一間大屋子，就是從前收存素祭、乳香、器皿，和照例供給利未人、歌唱者、門口守衛的五穀、新酒和新油的十分之一，以及歸祭司之舉祭的屋子。
