“ Yet the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from my whole family to be king over Israel forever. He chose Judah as leader, and from the tribe of Judah he chose my family, and from my father’s sons he was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

“ But the Lord chose me. He is the God of Israel. He chose me from my whole family to be king over Israel forever. He chose Judah to lead the tribes. From the tribe of Judah he chose my family. From my father’s sons he chose me. He was pleased to make me king over the whole nation of Israel.

Yet the Lord God of Israel chose me from all my father’s house to be king over Israel forever. For he chose Judah as leader, and in the house of Judah my father’s house, and among my father’s sons he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

“ Yet the Lord, the God of Israel, has chosen me from among all my father’s family to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen the tribe of Judah to rule, and from among the families of Judah he chose my father’s family. And from among my father’s sons the Lord was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

“ Yet the LORD God of Israel chose me out of all my father’s family to be king over Israel forever. For he chose Judah as leader, and from the house of Judah, my father’s family, and from my father’s sons, he was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

Yet, the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from all the household of my father to be king over Israel forever. For He has chosen Judah to be a leader; and in the house of Judah, my father’s house, and among the sons of my father He took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

However the Lord God of Israel chose me above all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever, for He has chosen Judah to be the ruler. And of the house of Judah, the house of my father, and among the sons of my father, He was pleased with me to make me king over all Israel.

Howbeit Jehovah, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel;

“ Yet the Lord God of Israel chose me out of all my father’s household to be king over Israel forever. For He chose Judah as leader, and from the house of Judah, my father’s household, and from my father’s sons, He was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah[ to be] the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make[ me] king over all Israel:

The LORD God of Israel chose me out of my father’s entire family to become king over Israel and have a permanent dynasty. Indeed, he chose Judah as leader, and my father’s family within Judah, and then he picked me out from among my father’s sons and made me king over all Israel.

However Yahweh, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

耶和华对撒母耳说：“你为扫罗悲恸要到什么时候呢？我已经厌弃他作以色列的王。你把犄角装满膏油，去吧，我要派遣你到伯利恒人耶西那里，因为我在他的儿子中选定了一个王。”

他们到的时候，撒母耳看见以利押，就想：“在耶和华面前的这个人，一定是他的受膏者。”但耶和华对撒母耳说：“不要看他的容貌和他的高大身材，其实我已经厌弃了他。因为我所看的不像人所看的；人是看眼所见的，耶和华是看内心。”耶西叫来亚比拿达，让他从撒母耳面前经过，撒母耳说：“耶和华也没有拣选这人。”耶西让沙玛经过，撒母耳说：“耶和华也没有拣选这人。”耶西让他的七个儿子都从撒母耳面前经过，撒母耳对耶西说：“耶和华没有拣选这些人。”撒母耳问耶西：“孩子们全来了吗？”耶西回答：“还剩下最小的那个，看哪，他正在放羊。”撒母耳对耶西说：“派人去把他带来，在他来到之前，我们不会入席。”耶西就派人去把他带来；他面色红润，双目清秀，样貌英俊。耶和华说：“起来膏抹他，就是这个人！”于是撒母耳拿起装膏油的犄角，在他兄弟们当中膏抹了他。从那天以后，耶和华的灵就大大临到大卫。撒母耳起身回拉玛去了。

犹大啊，你的兄弟们必称赞你，你的手必压住仇敌的颈项，你父亲的众子必向你下拜。犹大是个小狮子；我儿啊，你猎食而归，屈身蹲伏，躺如公狮，卧如母狮，谁敢惊动你？权杖必不离开犹大，王杖必不离他两脚之间，直到“细罗”来到，万民都要归顺他。

西弗人来到基比亚见扫罗，说：“大卫不是躲藏在旷野对面的哈基拉山中吗？”

他却拣选了犹大支派，他所爱的锡安山。他建造他的圣所如同高峰，又像他永远建立的大地。他拣选了自己的仆人大卫，从羊圈中把他挑选出来，从所照顾的哺乳母羊当中把他带出来，为要牧养自己的子民雅各，自己的继业以色列。于是大卫就以纯全的心牧养他们，以聪慧的手引导他们。

基列属于我，玛拿西也属于我，以法莲是我的头盔，犹大是我的权杖。

他把我领到宽阔之地；他搭救了我，因为他喜悦我。

他们因你的名终日快乐，藉着你的公义被高举；因为你是他们能力的荣耀。因你的恩典，我们的角被高举；因为我们的盾牌属于耶和华，我们的王属于以色列的圣者。那时你在异象中对你的忠信者宣告，说：“我帮助了一位勇士，高举了那从民中所拣选的。我找到我的仆人大卫，用我圣洁的膏油膏抹了他。我的手必坚定地与他同在，我的膀臂也必使他稳固。仇敌不能毁灭他，不义之子也不能苦待他。我要在他面前打碎他的敌人，我要击打那些恨他的人。我的信实和我的慈爱要与他同在；奉我的名，他的角必被高举。我要把他的左手放到海洋上，把他的右手放到河流中。他将呼求我：‘你是我的父、我的神，是我救恩的磐石。’我还要立他作长子，作地上君王中的至高者。

基列属于我，玛拿西也属于我，以法莲是我的头盔，犹大是我的权杖。

就是说，我们的主明显是从犹大支派兴起的，而对于这个支派，摩西从来没有提到有关祭司的事。

他喜欢的不是马的力量，他喜悦的不是人的脚力——耶和华喜悦的是那些敬畏他的人、那些期盼他慈爱的人。
