And everything dedicated by Samuel the seer and by Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner and Joab son of Zeruiah, and all the other dedicated things were in the care of Shelomith and his relatives.

Samuel the prophet had set apart some things for God. Saul, the son of Kish, had set apart other things. So had Abner, the son of Ner. And so had Joab, the son of Zeruiah. All these things and everything else that had been set apart were taken care of by Shelomith and his relatives.

Also all that Samuel the seer and Saul the son of Kish and Abner the son of Ner and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated— all dedicated gifts were in the care of Shelomoth and his brothers.

Shelomoth and his relatives also cared for the gifts dedicated to the Lord by Samuel the seer, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah. All the other dedicated gifts were in their care, too.

All that the seer Samuel, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah had dedicated, along with everything else that had been dedicated, were in the care of Shelomith and his relatives.

And all that Samuel the seer had dedicated, and Saul the son of Kish, Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, everyone who had dedicated anything, all of this was under the care of Shelomoth and his relatives.

掃羅得了以色列的王位，攻打四圍一切仇敵，攻打摩押人、亞捫人、以東人、瑣巴的眾王和非利士人，凡他所到之處盡都征服。他作戰英勇，擊敗了亞瑪力人，解救以色列人脫離搶掠他們之人的手。掃羅的兒子是約拿單、亦施韋和麥基舒亞。他有兩個女兒，大的名叫米拉，小的名叫米甲。掃羅的妻子名叫婭希暖，是亞希瑪斯的女兒。他的元帥名叫押尼珥，是掃羅的叔叔尼珥的兒子；掃羅的父親基士和押尼珥的父親尼珥都是亞別的兒子。

約押見自己腹背受敵，就從以色列所有精兵中挑選了一部分，擺陣迎戰亞蘭人，其餘的人交在他兄弟亞比篩手下，擺陣迎戰亞捫人。約押說：「如果亞蘭人強過我，你就過來幫助我；如果亞捫人強過你，我就過去幫助你。要堅強，我們要為我們的人民、為我們神的城鎮而堅強！願耶和華做他眼中看為好的事。」於是約押和跟隨他的人上前與亞蘭人作戰，亞蘭人從他面前逃跑。亞捫人見亞蘭人逃跑，也從亞比篩面前逃跑，逃進城裡。於是約押從亞捫人那裡撤離，回到耶路撒冷。
