And God sent an angel to destroy Jerusalem. But as the angel was doing so, the Lord saw it and relented concerning the disaster and said to the angel who was destroying the people,“ Enough! Withdraw your hand.” The angel of the Lord was then standing at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

And God sent the angel to Jerusalem to destroy it, but as he was about to destroy it, the Lord saw, and he relented from the calamity. And he said to the angel who was working destruction,“ It is enough; now stay your hand.” And the angel of the Lord was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

And God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it; but as he was about to destroy it, the Lord saw and was sorry about the catastrophe, and said to the destroying angel,“ It is enough; now relax your hand.” And the angel of the Lord was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

耶和華就因造人在地上感到遺憾，心中憂傷。

於是耶和華改變心意，不把所說的災禍降給他的百姓。

當日，迦得來到大衛那裏，對他說：「你上去，在耶布斯人亞勞拿的禾場上為耶和華立一座壇。」

「當猶大王希西家的日子，有摩利沙人彌迦對猶大眾百姓預言說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：錫安要被耕種像一塊田地，耶路撒冷要變為廢墟，這殿的山必像叢林的高處。』

所羅門在耶路撒冷開工建造耶和華的殿，就在耶和華向他父親大衛顯現的摩利亞山上，耶布斯人阿珥楠的禾場，大衛指定的地方。

「耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷啊，你常殺害先知，又用石頭打死那奉差遣到你這裏來的人。我多少次想聚集你的兒女，好像母雞把小雞聚集在翅膀底下，但是你們不願意。看吧，你們的家要被廢棄成為荒蕪。

我何時論到一邦或一國說，要拔出、拆毀、毀壞；我所說的那一邦若回轉離開他們的惡，我就改變心意，不將我想要施行的災禍降與他們。我何時論到一邦或一國說，要建立、栽植；他們若行我眼中看為惡的事，不聽從我的話，我就改變心意，不將我所說的福氣賜給他們。

耶和華為他們興起士師，耶和華與士師同在。士師在世的一切日子，耶和華拯救他們脫離仇敵的手。耶和華因他們受欺壓迫害所發出的哀聲，就憐憫他們。

以色列人就除掉他們中間的外邦神明，事奉耶和華。耶和華因以色列所受的苦難而心裏焦急。

他自己在曠野走了一日的路程，來到一棵羅騰樹下，就坐在那裏求死，說：「耶和華啊，現在夠了！求你取我的性命吧，因為我不比我的祖先好。」

他第三次來對他們說：「現在你們仍在睡覺安歇嗎？夠了，時候到了。看哪，人子被出賣在罪人手裏了。

請你們祈求耶和華，因神的雷轟和冰雹已經夠了。我要放你們走，你們不用再留下來了。」

但他有憐憫，赦免他們的罪孽，沒有滅絕他們，而且屢次撤銷他的怒氣，不發盡他的憤怒。

你為何假借耶和華的名預言，說這殿必如示羅，這城必荒廢無人居住呢？」於是眾百姓都聚集在耶和華的殿中圍住耶利米。

他就向耶和華禱告，說：「耶和華啊，這不就是我仍在本國的時候所說的嗎？我知道你是有恩惠，有憐憫的神，不輕易發怒，有豐盛的慈愛，並且會改變心意，不降那災難。我就是因為這樣，才急速逃往他施去的呀！

天使向耶路撒冷伸手要毀滅這城的時候，耶和華改變心意，不降那災難，就對那在百姓中施行毀滅的天使說：「夠了！住手吧！」耶和華的使者正在耶布斯人亞勞拿的禾場那裏。

你們到我的地方示羅去，就是我先前在那裏立為我名的居所，察看我因這百姓以色列的罪惡向那地方所行的事。

耶和華啊，我們要等到幾時呢？求你轉回，憐憫你的僕人們。
