洗魯雅的兒子亞比篩對王說：『這死狗為甚麼咒罵我主我王呢？容我過去、取下他的頭來。』王說：『洗魯雅的兒子啊，你們與我就不同意了。他咒罵，若是因為永恆主吩咐他「要咒罵大衛」那麼誰敢說：「你為甚麼這樣行呢？」』大衛又對亞比篩和眾臣僕說：『看哪，我親腹出的兒子尚且尋索我的性命，何況現在這便雅憫人呢？由他咒罵吧；因為這是永恆主吩咐他的。

大衛說：『洗魯雅的兒子啊，你們與我就不同意了，所以你們今天才跟我作對啊。今天在以色列中豈可有一個人被處死呢？我豈不知我今天還作以色列的王麼？』

我、我雖然受膏為王，今日還是柔弱；洗魯雅的兒子這些人比我強；願永恆主照惡人所行的壞事報應行壞事的人就是了。』

當時洗魯雅的三個兒子、約押、亞比篩、亞撒黑、也在那裏；亞撒黑的腿輕快、如同田野的瞪羚羊一般。亞撒黑追趕押尼珥、不偏左右、一直跟着押尼珥跑。押尼珥轉過身來、問說：『亞撒黑啊，是你麼？』他回答說：『是我。』押尼珥對他說：『你或轉向右，或轉向左，抓住一個青年人，取了他被剝奪的衣裳也就夠了。』亞撒黑卻不情願轉開而不跟着他。押尼珥又再對亞撒黑說：『你轉開不跟着我吧；我何必將你擊殺到地上呢？我若殺你，怎有臉面去見你哥哥約押呢？亞撒黑仍然不肯轉開，押尼珥便用矛倒刺他的五臟，矛從他的背後透出來；亞撒黑就在那裏仆倒，當場死掉；眾人趕到亞撒黑仆倒而死的地方，就都站住。
