所罗门聚集战车和骑兵，他有战车一千四百辆，骑兵一万二千人，安置在屯车城和耶路撒冷，就是与王在一起。

只是君王不可为自己加添马匹，也不可使人民回埃及去，为要加添马匹，因为耶和华曾经对你们说过：‘你们不可再回到那条路去。’

君王不是因兵多得胜，勇士不是因力大得救。想靠马得胜是枉然的；马虽然力大，也不能救人。

约书亚照着耶和华吩咐他的对待他们；他砍断了他们的马蹄筋，用火烧了他们的车辆。
