Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, was commander over the Kerethites and Pelethites. And King David’s sons were the chief officials who served at his side.

and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were the chief officials in the service of the king.

Benaiah son of Jehoiada was captain of the king’s bodyguard. And David’s sons served as the king’s chief assistants.

于是，祭司撒督、先知拿单、耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅，和基利提人、比利提人都下去使所罗门骑大卫王的骡子，将他送到基训。

住沿海之地的基利提族有祸了！迦南、非利士人之地啊，耶和华的话与你反对，说：“我必毁灭你，以致无人居住。

他们的职任是服侍亚伦的子孙，在耶和华的殿和院子，并屋中办事，洁净一切圣物，就是办神殿的事务，

于是耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅上去，将约押杀死，葬在旷野约押自己的坟墓里。王就立耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅作元帅，代替约押，又使祭司撒督代替亚比亚他。

王差遣祭司撒督、先知拿单、耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅，和基利提人、比利提人都去使所罗门骑王的骡子。

约押的人和基利提人、比利提人，并所有的勇士，都跟着亚比筛，从耶路撒冷出去追赶比基利的儿子示巴。

他在这三个勇士里是最尊贵的，所以作他们的首领，只是不及前三个勇士。有甲薛勇士耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅行过大能的事；他杀了摩押人亚利伊勒的两个儿子，又在下雪的时候下坑里去，杀了一个狮子，又杀了一个强壮的埃及人；埃及人手里拿着枪，比拿雅只拿着棍子下去，从埃及人手里夺过枪来，用那枪将他杀死。这是耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅所行的事，就在三个勇士里得了名。他比那三十个勇士都尊贵，只是不及前三个勇士。大卫立他作护卫长。
