现在你要对我的仆人大卫说：‘万军之耶和华这样说：我把你从羊圈中选召出来，使你不再跟随羊群，使你作领袖管治我的子民以色列。

現在你要對我的僕人大衛說：‘萬軍之耶和華這樣說：我把你從羊圈中選召出來，使你不再跟隨羊群，使你作領袖管治我的子民以色列。

現在你要對我僕人大衛這樣說：「萬軍之永恆主這麼說：我將你從羊圈中、從趕羊羣的事上選取了來，讓你做人君來管理我人民以色列。

故當謂我僕大衛曰、萬軍之耶和華云、我自羊牢中、羊羣後、取爾為我民以色列之君、

今當告我僕大闢、萬有之主耶和華云、昔爾在羊牢為牧、我特遴選爾、使為我民、以色列族長、

今爾告我僕大衛曰、萬有之主如是云、昔我自羊牢中、自羊群後、召爾立為我民以色列之君、

“ Now then, tell my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel.

“ So tell my servant David,‘ The Lord who rules over all says,“ I took you away from the grasslands. That is where you were taking care of your father’s sheep and goats. I appointed you ruler over my people Israel.

Now, therefore, thus shall you say to my servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people Israel,

“ Now go and say to my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I took you from tending sheep in the pasture and selected you to be the leader of my people Israel.

“ So now this is what you are to say to my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD of Armies says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, to be ruler over my people Israel.

Now, therefore, this is what you shall say to My servant David:‘ This is what the Lord of armies says:“ I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be leader over My people Israel.

Now therefore, thus shall you say to My servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people Israel.

Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be prince over my people Israel:

“ Now this is what you will say to My servant David:‘ This is what the Lord of Hosts says: I took you from the pasture and from following the sheep to be ruler over My people Israel.

Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote,[ even] from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel:

“ So now, say this to my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD who commands armies says:“ I took you from the pasture and from your work as a shepherd to make you a leader of my people Israel.

“ Now therefore, you shall tell my servant David,‘ Yahweh of Armies says,“ I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people Israel.

大衛對米甲說：「這是在耶和華面前的。耶和華已揀選我，在你父和你父的全家之上，立我作耶和華百姓以色列的君王，所以我在耶和華面前跳舞，

『猶大地的伯利恆啊，你在猶大諸城中並不是最小的；因為將來有一位統治者要從你那裏出來，牧養我以色列民。』」

大衛有時離開掃羅，回伯利恆為他父親放羊。

他揀選他的僕人大衛，從羊圈中將他召來，叫他不再牧放那些母羊，為要牧養自己的百姓雅各和自己的產業以色列。

他的夥伴西庇太的兒子雅各、約翰，也是這樣。耶穌對西門說：「不要怕！從今以後，你要得人了。」

耶穌沿着加利利海邊行走，看見兩兄弟，就是那叫彼得的西門和他弟弟安得烈，正往海裏撒網；他們本是打魚的。耶穌對他們說：「來跟從我，我要叫你們得人如得魚一樣。」他們立刻捨了網，跟從他。耶穌從那裏往前走，看見另外兩兄弟，就是西庇太的兒子雅各和他弟弟約翰，同他們的父親西庇太在船上補網，耶穌就呼召他們。他們立刻捨了船，辭別父親，跟從了耶穌。

撒母耳對耶西說：「你的兒子都在這裏了嗎？」他說：「還有一個最小的，看哪，他正在放羊。」撒母耳對耶西說：「你派人去叫他來；他若不來這裏，我們必不坐席。」耶西就派人去叫他來。他面色紅潤，雙目清秀，容貌俊美。耶和華說：「起來，膏他，因為這就是他了。」

現在，你要對我僕人大衛這樣說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：我從羊圈中將你召來，叫你不再牧放羊羣，立你作我百姓以色列的君王。

阿摩司對亞瑪謝說：「我原不是先知，也不是先知的門徒；我是牧人，是修剪桑樹的。耶和華帶領我，叫我不再牧放羊羣，對我說：『你去向我子民以色列說預言。』

摩西牧放他岳父米甸祭司葉特羅的羊羣，他領羊羣往曠野的那一邊去，到了上帝的山，就是何烈山。耶和華的使者在荊棘的火焰中向他顯現。摩西觀看，看哪，荊棘在火中焚燒，卻沒有燒燬。摩西說：「我要轉過去看這大異象，這荊棘為何沒有燒燬呢？」耶和華見摩西轉過去看，上帝就從荊棘裏呼叫他說：「摩西！摩西！」他說：「我在這裏。」上帝說：「不要靠近這裏。把你腳上的鞋脫下來，因為你所站的地方是聖地」。他又說：「我是你父親的上帝，是亞伯拉罕的上帝，以撒的上帝，雅各的上帝。」摩西蒙上臉，因為怕看上帝。耶和華說：「我確實看見了我百姓在埃及所受的困苦，我也聽見了他們因受監工苦待所發的哀聲；我確實知道他們的痛苦。我下來是要救他們脫離埃及人的手，領他們從那地上來，到美好與寬闊之地，到流奶與蜜之地，就是迦南人、赫人、亞摩利人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人之地。現在，看哪，以色列人的哀聲達到我這裏，我也看見埃及人怎樣欺壓他們。現在，你去，我要差派你到法老那裏，把我的百姓以色列人從埃及領出來。」
