and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also subdue all your enemies.“‘ I declare to you that the Lord will build a house for you:

That is what your enemies have done ever since I appointed leaders over my people Israel. But I will bring all your enemies under your control.“‘ “I tell you that I, the Lord, will build a royal house for your family.

Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of raiders who plundered them. He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.Wherever they went out, Yahweh’s hand was against them for evil, as Yahweh had spoken, and as Yahweh had sworn to them; and they were very distressed.Yahweh raised up judges, who saved them out of the hand of those who plundered them.Yet they didn’t listen to their judges; for they prostituted themselves to other gods, and bowed themselves down to them. They quickly turned away from the way in which their fathers walked, obeying Yahweh’s commandments. They didn’t do so.When Yahweh raised up judges for them, then Yahweh was with the judge, and saved them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for it grieved Yahweh because of their groaning by reason of those who oppressed them and troubled them.

and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. Moreover Yahweh tells you that Yahweh will make you a house.

I will beat down his adversaries before him, and strike those who hate him.

Now there was no blacksmith found throughout all the land of Israel; for the Philistines said,“ Lest the Hebrews make themselves swords or spears”;but all the Israelites went down to the Philistines, each man to sharpen his own plowshare, mattock, ax, and sickle.

The Philistines assembled themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the seashore in multitude. They came up and encamped in Michmash, eastward of Beth Aven.When the men of Israel saw that they were in trouble( for the people were distressed), then the people hid themselves in caves, in thickets, in rocks, in tombs, and in pits.

For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

Yahweh says to my Lord,“ Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet.”

Because the midwives feared God, he gave them families.

Your hand will find out all of your enemies. Your right hand will find out those who hate you.You will make them as a fiery furnace in the time of your anger. Yahweh will swallow them up in his wrath. The fire shall devour them.

Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain.

You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.They cried, but there was no one to save; even to Yahweh, but he didn’t answer them.Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind. I cast them out as the mire of the streets.You have delivered me from the strivings of the people. You have made me the head of the nations. A people whom I have not known shall serve me.As soon as they hear of me they shall obey me. The foreigners shall submit themselves to me.The foreigners shall fade away, and shall come trembling out of their strongholds.Yahweh lives! Blessed be my rock. Exalted be the God of my salvation,even the God who executes vengeance for me, and subdues peoples under me.He rescues me from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.Therefore I will give thanks to you, Yahweh, among the nations, and will sing praises to your name.He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his offspring, forever more.

So it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites, the Amalekites, and the children of the east came up against them.They encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, until you come to Gaza. They left no sustenance in Israel, and no sheep, ox, or donkey.For they came up with their livestock and their tents. They came in as locusts for multitude. Both they and their camels were without number; and they came into the land to destroy it.Israel was brought very low because of Midian; and the children of Israel cried to Yahweh.

Therefore Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Cushan Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan Rishathaim eight years.

The children of Israel cried to Yahweh, for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and he mightily oppressed the children of Israel for twenty years.
