As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him in her heart.

The ark of the covenant of the Lord was brought into the City of David. Saul’s daughter Michal was watching from a window. She saw King David dancing and celebrating. That made her hate him in her heart.

And as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart.

But as the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David skipping about and laughing with joy, she was filled with contempt for him.

As the ark of the covenant of the LORD was entering the city of David, Saul’s daughter Michal looked down from the window and saw King David leaping and dancing, and she despised him in her heart.

As the ark of the LORD’s covenant entered the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked out the window. When she saw King David jumping and celebrating, she despised him.

As the ark of Yahweh’s covenant came to David’s city, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.

大衛回到家為自己的家人祝福，米甲出來迎接他，說：「今天以色列王好光彩呀！居然像個粗俗之人，在臣僕和婢女面前露體！」大衛對她說：「我是在耶和華面前跳舞。祂不用你父親和你父親家裡的人，而是選立我來治理祂的以色列子民，所以我要在祂面前歡慶。我要讓自己更卑微，自視低賤，但你說的那些婢女會尊重我。」掃羅的女兒米甲終生都沒有生育。

耶和華的約櫃進大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶看見大衛在耶和華面前又跳又舞，心裡就輕視他。

你們在地上繁衍昌盛的時候，人們不會再提及耶和華的約櫃，不會再把它放在心上，不會再感到需要它，也不會再造一個。這是耶和華說的。

裡面有純金的香壇和包金的約櫃。約櫃裡珍藏著盛嗎哪的金罐、亞倫那根發過芽的手杖和兩塊刻著十誡的石版，

大衛回答說：「好，但你一定要把掃羅的女兒米甲帶來才能見我。」於是，大衛派使者去見掃羅的兒子伊施波設說：「請把我的妻子米甲送回來，因為她是我用一百個非利士人的包皮作聘禮娶來的。」

掃羅派人監視大衛的家，要在早上殺死他。大衛的妻子米甲警告他說：「如果你今晚不逃命，明早必死無疑。」於是，她從窗口把大衛縋下去，讓他逃走了。然後她把家中的神像放在床上，頭枕在山羊毛的枕頭上，蓋上被子。掃羅派人來捉拿大衛的時候，米甲說他病了。掃羅又派人去見大衛，並吩咐說：「把他連床一起抬來，我好殺他。」眾人進去發現躺在床上的是一個神像，頭枕在山羊毛的枕頭上。掃羅問米甲：「你為什麼欺騙我，讓我的敵人逃走？」米甲答道：「他說如果我不讓他逃走，就殺了我。」

掃羅已經把自己的女兒——大衛的妻子米甲嫁給了迦琳人拉億的兒子帕提。

那時，上帝的約櫃就在那裡，亞倫的孫子、以利亞撒的兒子非尼哈任祭司。以色列人求問耶和華，說：「我們應該再去攻打我們的同胞便雅憫人嗎？還是退兵？」耶和華說：「去攻打吧，因為明天我必把他們交在你們手中。」

以色列人離開耶和華的山，走了三天的路程，期間耶和華的約櫃一直在隊伍的前頭，為他們尋找安營之地。

亞倫的姐姐米利暗是個先知，她手拿小鼓，帶領婦女擊鼓跳舞，

那裡必傳出感謝和歡樂的聲音。我必使他們的人口增加，不再減少；我必使他們得享尊榮，不再受歧視。

你們就告訴他們，『約旦河水在耶和華的約櫃前曾經被截斷，當約櫃過河的時候，河水被截斷了。這些石頭要在以色列人當中作為永久的紀念。』」

然而，屬血氣的人不接受從上帝來的聖靈的教導，認為愚不可及，無法明白，因為只有屬靈的人才能參透。

大衛和部下出去殺了二百個非利士人，把他們的包皮獻給掃羅，好做王的女婿。掃羅便把女兒米甲嫁給了大衛。掃羅知道耶和華與大衛同在，自己的女兒米甲也愛他，

要擊鼓跳舞讚美祂，要撥弦吹笛讚美祂！

「把這律法書放在你們的上帝耶和華的約櫃旁，作為指控你們的證據。

哭泣有時，歡笑有時；哀傷有時，雀躍有時；

我為了你的緣故遭受辱罵，羞辱滿面。我的弟兄視我為陌生人，我的手足看我為外人。我對你的殿充滿炙熱的愛，辱罵你之人的辱罵都落在我身上。

軍隊回營後，以色列的長老說：「為什麼今天耶和華使我們敗在非利士人手下？我們從示羅把耶和華的約櫃抬來吧，讓它與我們同去，好從仇敵手中救我們。」

願他們跳舞讚美祂的名，擊鼓彈琴歌頌祂。

如果我們瘋狂，那是為了上帝；如果我們清醒，那是為了你們。

但這些地方必傳出歡樂聲、新郎新娘的歡笑聲和在耶和華殿中獻感恩祭者的歌唱聲，『要感謝萬軍之耶和華，因為耶和華是美善的，祂的慈愛永遠長存』。因為我必使被擄的人回到故土，重建家園。這是耶和華說的。」

有些人就譏笑說：「他們不過是被新酒灌醉了！」

你把我的哀哭變成了舞步，為我脫下悲傷的麻衣，披上喜樂的外袍，

大衛住進宮殿後，對拿單先知說：「你看，我住在香柏木建的王宮中，耶和華的約櫃卻在帳篷裡。」
