並不是我們憑自己配做甚麼事，我們之所以配做是出於神；

「我算甚麼，我的百姓算甚麼，竟然能夠如此樂意奉獻？因為萬物都從你而來，我們把從你的手得來的獻給你。

「第七日要獻七頭公牛、兩隻公綿羊、十四隻一歲的小公羊，都是沒有殘疾的，

對滅亡的人，這是死而又死的氣味；對得救的人，這是生而又生的氣味。這些事誰能當得起呢？

然而，我蒙神的幫助，直到今日還站立得穩，向尊貴的和卑微的作見證。我所講的，並不外乎眾先知和摩西所說將來必成的事，

節期的七天內，每天他要預備無殘疾的七頭公牛、七隻公綿羊，給耶和華為燔祭；每天又要預備一隻公山羊為贖罪祭。

撒母耳拿一塊石頭立在米斯巴和善的中間，給石頭起名叫以便‧以謝，說：「到如今耶和華都幫助我們。」

我要帶着燔祭進你的殿，向你還我的願，就是在急難時我嘴唇所發的、口中所許的。我要將肥牛的燔祭和公羊的香祭獻給你，又要把公牛和公山羊獻上。（細拉）

抬耶和華約櫃的人走了六步，大衛就獻牛與肥畜為祭。
