爾曹初未舁之、亦未循例尋求上帝、故我上帝耶和華擊我儕、

爾曹初未行此、我儕未循所定之例、求問主我之天主、故主我之天主降災於我儕、

It was because you, the Levites, did not bring it up the first time that the Lord our God broke out in anger against us. We did not inquire of him about how to do it in the prescribed way.”

Remember when the anger of the Lord our God broke out against us? That’s because it wasn’t you Levites who tried to carry up the ark the first time. We didn’t ask the Lord how to do it in the way the law requires.”

Because you did not carry it the first time, the Lord our God broke out against us, because we did not seek him according to the rule.”

Because you Levites did not carry the Ark the first time, the anger of the Lord our God burst out against us. We failed to ask God how to move it properly.”

For the LORD our God burst out in anger against us because you Levites were not with us the first time, for we didn’t inquire of him about the proper procedures.”

Because you did not carry it at the first, the Lord our God made an outburst against us, since we did not seek Him according to the ordinance.”

For because you did not do it the first time, the Lord our God broke out against us, because we did not consult Him about the proper order.”

For because ye bare it not at the first, Jehovah our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not according to the ordinance.

For the Lord our God burst out in anger against us because you Levites were not with us the first time, for we didn’t inquire of Him about the proper procedures.”

For because ye[ did it] not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

The first time you did not carry it; that is why the LORD God attacked us, because we did not ask him about the proper way to carry it.”

For because you didn’t carry it at first, Yahweh our God broke out in anger against us, because we didn’t seek him according to the ordinance.”

取上帝之匱、載於新車、御車者亞庇拿撻二子、一曰烏撒、一曰亞希阿、出亞庇拿撻之家、自山巔而下。

皆當秩然、合宜而行焉、

兄弟乎、我許爾、以爾常憶我、守我所授之命、

耶和華怒責其過、使殞沒於匱前。上帝擊烏撒、大闢不悅、名其地曰、比列烏撒、至於今日、其名尚存。

哥轄子孫於聖室之什物、以肩負荷、故不給以車。

大闢曰、耶和華簡利未人、舁上帝匱、供其役事、歷代勿替、自是舁匱、必以利未人。

摩西書此律法予諸祭司、及舁耶和華法匱之利未人、暨以色列族長老、

自匿其非、不得納福、任過而改、可獲矜憫、

民取上帝之匱、載於新車、出亞庇拿撻家、烏撒、亞希阿御車。大闢及以色列族眾、於上帝前、或謳歌、或吹角、或鳴琴鼓瑟、或播鼗敲鈸、極其舞蹈。至基頓穀場、牛桀驁不馴、烏撒僭扶其匱。耶和華上帝怒烏撒、因僭扶其匱、使殞沒於前。耶和華擊烏撒、大闢不悅、名其地曰比列烏撒、至今其名獨存。

以色列族遄征時、亞倫及其子、蓋聖室諸器皿、既畢其事、則哥轄子孫可前以舁、惟不可捫聖物、恐致死亡、今所言者、哥轄子孫、當負戴會幕之什物、

會中之人、未潔者眾、弗敢宰逾越節羔、利未人代宰、則於耶和華前、可為潔。以法蓮、馬拿西、以薩迦、西布倫、所至民眾、未潔其體、守逾越節、不循常例、希西家禱曰、如人崇列祖之上帝耶和華、惟一其心、雖不潔己、循聖所之例、耶和華無不善、願蒙赦宥。
