So David removed not the ark unto him into the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed- edom the Gittite.

He did not take the ark to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed- Edom the Gittite.

So David did not take the ark home into the city of David, but took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

So David would not remove the ark of Jehovah unto him into the city of David; but David carried it aside into the house of Obed- edom the Gittite.And the ark of Jehovah remained in the house of Obed- edom the Gittite three months: and Jehovah blessed Obed- edom, and all his house.

All these were of the sons of Obed- edom: they and their sons and their brethren, able men in strength for the service; threescore and two of Obed- edom.
