2Older men2:2 1Tm 5:1 are to be self-controlled, worthy of respect, sensible, and sound in faith, love,2:2 1Co 13:1; 1Jn 4:16 and endurance.
3In the same way, older women2:3 1Tm 5:2 are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not slaves to excessive drinking. They are to teach what is good,
4so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands and to love their children,
6In the same way, encourage the young men2:6 1Tm 5:1; 1Pt 5:5; 1Jn 2:13–14 to be self-controlled

15Proclaim these things; encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard2:15 Or despise you.
