  • Ezekiel 28:26 - They will live on it securely; and they will build houses, plant vineyards, and live securely when I execute judgments upon all around them who despise them. Then they will know that I am the Lord their God.” ’ ”
  • Ezekiel 26:1 - Now in the eleventh year, on the first of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
  • Ezekiel 26:2 - “Son of man, because Tyre has said in regard to Jerusalem, ‘Aha! The gateway of the peoples is broken; it has opened to me. I shall be filled, now that she is laid waste,’
  • Ezekiel 26:3 - therefore this is what the Lord God says: ‘Behold, I am against you, Tyre, and I will bring up many nations against you, as the sea brings up its waves.
  • Ezekiel 26:4 - They will destroy the walls of Tyre and tear down her towers; and I will sweep her debris away from her and make her a bare rock.
  • Ezekiel 26:5 - She will become a dry place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea, for I have spoken,’ declares the Lord God; ‘and she will become plunder for the nations.
  • Ezekiel 26:6 - Also her daughters who are on the mainland will be killed by the sword, and they will know that I am the Lord.’ ”
  • Ezekiel 26:7 - For the Lord God says this: “Behold, I am going to bring upon Tyre from the north Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, with horses, chariots, cavalry, and a great army.
  • Ezekiel 26:8 - He will kill your daughters on the mainland with the sword; and he will make siege walls against you, pile up an assault ramp against you, and raise up a large shield against you.
  • Ezekiel 26:9 - And he will direct the blow of his battering rams against your walls, and he will tear down your towers with his axes.
  • Ezekiel 26:10 - Because of the multitude of his horses, the dust raised by them will cover you; your walls will shake from the noise of cavalry, wagons, and chariots when he enters your gates as warriors enter a city that is breached.
  • Ezekiel 26:11 - With the hoofs of his horses he will trample all your streets. He will kill your people with the sword, and your strong pillars will go down to the ground.
  • Ezekiel 26:12 - Also they will take your riches as spoils and plunder your merchandise, tear down your walls and destroy your delightful houses, and throw your stones, your timbers, and your debris into the water.
  • Ezekiel 26:13 - So I will put an end to the sound of your songs, and the sound of your harps will no longer be heard.
  • Ezekiel 26:14 - I will turn you into a bare rock; you will become a dry place for the spreading of nets. You will not be rebuilt, for I the Lord have spoken,” declares the Lord God.
  • Ezekiel 26:15 - The Lord God says this to Tyre: “Will the coastlands not shake from the sound of your downfall when the wounded groan, when the slaughter takes place in your midst?
  • Ezekiel 26:16 - Then all the princes of the sea will descend from their thrones, remove their robes, and strip off their colorfully woven garments. They will clothe themselves with trembling; they will sit on the ground, tremble again and again, and be appalled at you.
  • Ezekiel 26:17 - And they will take up a song of mourning over you and say to you, ‘How you have perished, you inhabited one, From the seas, you famous city, Which was mighty on the sea, She and her inhabitants, Who imposed her terror On all her inhabitants!
  • Ezekiel 26:18 - Now the coastlands will tremble On the day of your downfall; Yes, the coastlands which are by the sea Will be horrified at your passing.’ ”
  • Ezekiel 26:19 - For this is what the Lord God says: “When I make you a desolate city, like the cities which are not inhabited, when I bring up the deep over you and the great waters cover you,
  • Ezekiel 26:20 - then I will bring you down with those who go down to the pit, to the people of old, and I will make you remain in the lower parts of the earth, like the ancient ruins, with those who go down to the pit, so that you will not be inhabited; but I will put glory in the land of the living.
  • Ezekiel 26:21 - I will cause you sudden terrors and you will no longer exist; though you will be sought, you will never be found again,” declares the Lord God.
  • Amos 1:9 - This is what the Lord says: “For three offenses of Tyre, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, Because they turned an entire population over to Edom And did not remember the covenant of brotherhood.
  • Amos 1:10 - So I will send fire on the wall of Tyre, And it will consume her citadels.”
  • Isaiah 23:1 - The pronouncement concerning Tyre: Wail, you ships of Tarshish, For Tyre is destroyed, without house or harbor; It is reported to them from the land of Cyprus.
  • Isaiah 23:2 - Be silent, you inhabitants of the coastland, You merchants of Sidon; Your messengers crossed the sea
  • Isaiah 23:3 - And were on many waters. The grain of the Nile, the harvest of the River was her revenue; And she was the market of nations.
  • Isaiah 23:4 - Be ashamed, Sidon, For the sea speaks, the stronghold of the sea, saying, “I have neither been in labor nor given birth, I have neither brought up young men nor raised virgins.”
  • Isaiah 23:5 - When the report reaches Egypt, They will be in anguish over the report of Tyre.
  • Isaiah 23:6 - Pass over to Tarshish; Wail, you inhabitants of the coastland.
  • Isaiah 23:7 - Is this your jubilant city, Whose origin is from antiquity, Whose feet used to bring her to colonize distant places?
  • Isaiah 23:8 - Who has planned this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, Whose merchants were princes, whose traders were the honored of the earth?
  • Isaiah 23:9 - The Lord of armies has planned it, to defile the pride of all beauty, To despise all the honored of the earth.
  • Isaiah 23:10 - Overflow your land like the Nile, you daughter of Tarshish, There is no more restraint.
  • Isaiah 23:11 - He has stretched His hand out over the sea, He has made the kingdoms tremble; The Lord has given a command concerning Canaan to demolish its strongholds.
  • Isaiah 23:12 - He has said, “You shall not be jubilant anymore, you crushed virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, pass over to Cyprus; even there you will find no rest.”
  • Isaiah 23:13 - Behold, the land of the Chaldeans—this is the people that did not exist; Assyria allocated it for desert creatures—they erected their siege towers, they stripped its palaces, they made it a ruin.
  • Isaiah 23:14 - Wail, you ships of Tarshish, For your stronghold is destroyed.
  • Isaiah 23:15 - Now on that day Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years like the days of one king. At the end of seventy years it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the prostitute:
  • Isaiah 23:16 - Take your harp, wander around the city, You forgotten prostitute; Pluck the strings skillfully, sing many songs, That you may be remembered.
  • Isaiah 23:17 - It will come about at the end of seventy years that the Lord will visit Tyre. Then she will go back to her prostitute’s wages and commit prostitution with all the kingdoms on the face of the earth.
  • Isaiah 23:18 - Her profit and her prostitute’s wages will be sacred to the Lord; it will not be stored up or hoarded, but her profit will become sufficient food and magnificent attire for those who dwell in the presence of the Lord.
  • Obadiah 1:20 - And the exiles of this army of the sons of Israel, Who are among the Canaanites as far as Zarephath, And the exiles of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad, Will possess the cities of the Negev.
  • Numbers 13:21 - So they went up and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin as far as Rehob, at Lebo-hamath.
  • 1 Kings 17:9 - “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there; behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide food for you.”
  • Amos 6:14 - “For behold, I am going to raise up a nation against you, House of Israel,” declares the Lord God of armies, “And they will torment you from the entrance of Hamath To the brook of the Arabah.”
  • Ezekiel 28:2 - “Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre, ‘The Lord God says this: “Because your heart is haughty And you have said, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods In the heart of the seas’; Yet you are a mortal and not God, Although you make your heart like the heart of God—
  • Ezekiel 28:3 - Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; There is no secret that is a match for you!
  • Ezekiel 28:4 - By your wisdom and understanding You have acquired riches for yourself And have acquired gold and silver for your treasuries.
  • Ezekiel 28:5 - By your great wisdom, by your trade You have increased your riches, And your heart is haughty because of your riches—
  • Jeremiah 49:23 - Concerning Damascus: “Hamath and Arpad are put to shame, For they have heard bad news; They despair. There is anxiety at the sea, It cannot be calmed.
  • Ezekiel 28:12 - “Son of man, take up a song of mourning over the king of Tyre and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord God says: “You had the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
