  • Isaiah 13:20 - It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall shepherds make their flocks to lie down there.

  • Isaiah 23:1 - The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Kittim it is revealed to them.

  • Isaiah 23:10 - Pass through thy land as the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no restraint any more.
  • Isaiah 23:11 - He hath stretched out his hand over the sea, he hath shaken the kingdoms: Jehovah hath given commandment concerning Canaan, to destroy the strongholds thereof.
  • Isaiah 23:12 - And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon: arise, pass over to Kittim; even there shalt thou have no rest.
  • Isaiah 23:13 - Behold, the land of the Chaldeans: this people was not; the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness; they set up their towers; they overthrew the palaces thereof; they made it a ruin.
  • Isaiah 23:14 - Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for your stronghold is laid waste.
  • Isaiah 23:15 - And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years it shall be unto Tyre as in the song of the harlot.
  • Isaiah 23:16 - Take a harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.
  • Isaiah 23:17 - And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that Jehovah will visit Tyre, and she shall return to her hire, and shall play the harlot with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
  • Isaiah 23:18 - And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to Jehovah: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before Jehovah, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.
  • Daniel 2:47 - The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth your God is the God of gods, and the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou hast been able to reveal this secret.

  • Ezekiel 27:5 - They have made all thy planks of fir-trees from Senir; they have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for thee.
  • Ezekiel 27:6 - Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; they have made thy benches of ivory inlaid in boxwood, from the isles of Kittim.
  • Ezekiel 27:7 - Of fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was thy sail, that it might be to thee for an ensign; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was thine awning.
  • Ezekiel 27:8 - The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were thy rowers: thy wise men, O Tyre, were in thee, they were thy pilots.
  • Ezekiel 27:9 - The old men of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee thy calkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to deal in thy merchandise.
  • Ezekiel 27:10 - Persia and Lud and Put were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.
  • Ezekiel 27:11 - The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and valorous men were in thy towers; they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have perfected thy beauty.
  • Ezekiel 27:12 - Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded for thy wares.
  • Ezekiel 27:13 - Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy traffickers; they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass for thy merchandise.
  • Ezekiel 27:14 - They of the house of Togarmah traded for thy wares with horses and war-horses and mules.
  • Ezekiel 27:15 - The men of Dedan were thy traffickers; many isles were the mart of thy hand: they brought thee in exchange horns of ivory and ebony.
  • Ezekiel 27:16 - Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of thy handiworks: they traded for thy wares with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies.
  • Ezekiel 27:17 - Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy traffickers: they traded for thy merchandise wheat of Minnith, and pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.
  • Ezekiel 27:18 - Damascus was thy merchant for the multitude of thy handiworks, by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches, with the wine of Helbon, and white wool.
  • Ezekiel 27:19 - Vedan and Javan traded with yarn for thy wares: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were among thy merchandise.
  • Ezekiel 27:20 - Dedan was thy trafficker in precious cloths for riding.
  • Ezekiel 27:21 - Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they were the merchants of thy hand; in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these were they thy merchants.
  • Ezekiel 27:22 - The traffickers of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy traffickers; they traded for thy wares with the chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.
  • Ezekiel 27:23 - Haran and Canneh and Eden, the traffickers of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad, were thy traffickers.
  • Ezekiel 27:24 - These were thy traffickers in choice wares, in wrappings of blue and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.
  • Ezekiel 27:25 - The ships of Tarshish were thy caravans for thy merchandise: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the heart of the seas.
  • Ezekiel 27:26 - Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas.
  • Ezekiel 27:27 - Thy riches, and thy wares, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the dealers in thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, with all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy ruin.
  • Ezekiel 27:28 - At the sound of the cry of thy pilots the suburbs shall shake.
  • Jeremiah 50:1 - The word that Jehovah spake concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by Jeremiah the prophet.
  • Jeremiah 50:2 - Declare ye among the nations and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is put to shame, Merodach is dismayed; her images are put to shame, her idols are dismayed.
  • Jeremiah 50:3 - For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they are fled, they are gone, both man and beast.
  • Jeremiah 50:4 - In those days, and in that time, saith Jehovah, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together; they shall go on their way weeping, and shall seek Jehovah their God.
  • Jeremiah 50:5 - They shall inquire concerning Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come ye, and join yourselves to Jehovah in an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten.
  • Jeremiah 50:6 - My people have been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray; they have turned them away on the mountains; they have gone from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting-place.
  • Jeremiah 50:7 - All that found them have devoured them; and their adversaries said, We are not guilty, because they have sinned against Jehovah, the habitation of righteousness, even Jehovah, the hope of their fathers.
  • Jeremiah 50:8 - Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he-goats before the flocks.
  • Jeremiah 50:9 - For, lo, I will stir up and cause to come up against Babylon a company of great nations from the north country; and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of an expert mighty man; none shall return in vain.
  • Jeremiah 50:10 - And Chaldea shall be a prey: all that prey upon her shall be satisfied, saith Jehovah.
  • Jeremiah 50:11 - Because ye are glad, because ye rejoice, O ye that plunder my heritage, because ye are wanton as a heifer that treadeth out the grain, and neigh as strong horses;
  • Jeremiah 50:12 - your mother shall be utterly put to shame; she that bare you shall be confounded: behold, she shall be the hindermost of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
  • Jeremiah 50:13 - Because of the wrath of Jehovah she shall not be inhabited, but she shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.
  • Jeremiah 50:14 - Set yourselves in array against Babylon round about, all ye that bend the bow; shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against Jehovah.
  • Jeremiah 50:15 - Shout against her round about: she hath submitted herself; her bulwarks are fallen, her walls are thrown down; for it is the vengeance of Jehovah: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.
  • Jeremiah 50:16 - Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.
  • Jeremiah 50:17 - Israel is a hunted sheep; the lions have driven him away: first, the king of Assyria devoured him; and now at last Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.
  • Jeremiah 50:18 - Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.
  • Jeremiah 50:19 - And I will bring Israel again to his pasture, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon the hills of Ephraim and in Gilead.
  • Jeremiah 50:20 - In those days, and in that time, saith Jehovah, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I leave as a remnant.
  • Jeremiah 50:21 - Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: slay and utterly destroy after them, saith Jehovah, and do according to all that I have commanded thee.
  • Jeremiah 50:22 - A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.
  • Jeremiah 50:23 - How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!
  • Jeremiah 50:24 - I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against Jehovah.
  • Jeremiah 50:25 - Jehovah hath opened his armory, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation; for the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, hath a work to do in the land of the Chaldeans.
  • Jeremiah 50:26 - Come against her from the utmost border; open her store-houses; cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly; let nothing of her be left.
  • Jeremiah 50:27 - Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation.
  • Jeremiah 50:28 - The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of Jehovah our God, the vengeance of his temple.
  • Jeremiah 50:29 - Call together the archers against Babylon, all them that bend the bow; encamp against her round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her; for she hath been proud against Jehovah, against the Holy One of Israel.
  • Jeremiah 50:30 - Therefore shall her young men fall in her streets, and all her men of war shall be brought to silence in that day, saith Jehovah.
  • Jeremiah 50:31 - Behold, I am against thee, O thou proud one, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts; for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.
  • Jeremiah 50:32 - And the proud one shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up; and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all that are round about him.
  • Jeremiah 50:33 - Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: The children of Israel and the children of Judah are oppressed together; and all that took them captive hold them fast; they refuse to let them go.
  • Jeremiah 50:34 - Their Redeemer is strong; Jehovah of hosts is his name: he will thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.
  • Jeremiah 50:35 - A sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith Jehovah, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.
  • Jeremiah 50:36 - A sword is upon the boasters, and they shall become fools; a sword is upon her mighty men, and they shall be dismayed.
  • Jeremiah 50:37 - A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures, and they shall be robbed.
  • Jeremiah 50:38 - A drought is upon her waters, and they shall be dried up; for it is a land of graven images, and they are mad over idols.
  • Jeremiah 50:39 - Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wolves shall dwell there, and the ostriches shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.
  • Jeremiah 50:40 - As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbor cities thereof, saith Jehovah, so shall no man dwell there, neither shall any son of man sojourn therein.
  • Jeremiah 50:41 - Behold, a people cometh from the north; and a great nation and many kings shall be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
  • Jeremiah 50:42 - They lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, every one set in array, as a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.
  • Jeremiah 50:43 - The king of Babylon hath heard the tidings of them, and his hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.
  • Jeremiah 50:44 - Behold, the enemy shall come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation: for I will suddenly make them run away from it; and whoso is chosen, him will I appoint over it: for who is like me? and who will appoint me a time? and who is the shepherd that can stand before me?
  • Jeremiah 50:45 - Therefore hear ye the counsel of Jehovah, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely they shall drag them away, even the little ones of the flock; surely he shall make their habitation desolate over them.
  • Jeremiah 50:46 - At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth trembleth, and the cry is heard among the nations.

  • 1 Kings 10:6 - And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom.
  • 1 Kings 10:7 - Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me; thy wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard.
  • 1 Kings 10:8 - Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, that stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.
  • 1 Kings 10:9 - Blessed be Jehovah thy God, who delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because Jehovah loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do justice and righteousness.
  • 1 Kings 10:10 - And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

  • 1 Kings 10:13 - And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, besides that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.
