  • Judges 7:2 - And the Lord said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’
  • 2 Chronicles 14:9 - Then Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million men and three hundred chariots, and he came to Mareshah.
  • 2 Chronicles 14:10 - So Asa went out against him, and they set the troops in battle array in the Valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
  • 2 Chronicles 14:11 - And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, “Lord, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude.   • 2 Chronicles 14:13 - And Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Gerar. So the Ethiopians were overthrown, and they could not recover, for they were broken before the Lord and His army. And they carried away very much spoil.

  • Judges 7:14 - Then his companion answered and said, “This is nothing else but the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel! Into his hand God has delivered Midian and the whole camp.”
  • Judges 7:15 - And so it was, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel, and said, “Arise, for the Lord has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.”
  • Judges 7:16 - Then he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet into every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers.
  • Judges 7:17 - And he said to them, “Look at me and do likewise; watch, and when I come to the edge of the camp you shall do as I do:
  • Judges 7:18 - When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then you also blow the trumpets on every side of the whole camp, and say, ‘The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!’ ”
  • Judges 7:19 - So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outpost of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just as they had posted the watch; and they blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers that were in their hands.
  • Judges 7:20 - Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers—they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing—and they cried, “The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!”
  • Judges 7:21 - And every man stood in his place all around the camp; and the whole army ran and cried out and fled.
  • Judges 7:22 - When the three hundred blew the trumpets, the Lord set every man’s sword against his companion throughout the whole camp; and the army fled to Beth Acacia, toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel Meholah, by Tabbath.
  • Judges 7:23 - And the men of Israel gathered together from Naphtali, Asher, and all Manasseh, and pursued the Midianites.
  • Judges 7:24 - Then Gideon sent messengers throughout all the mountains of Ephraim, saying, “Come down against the Midianites, and seize from them the watering places as far as Beth Barah and the Jordan.” Then all the men of Ephraim gathered together and seized the watering places as far as Beth Barah and the Jordan.
  • Judges 7:25 - And they captured two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb. They killed Oreb at the rock of Oreb, and Zeeb they killed at the winepress of Zeeb. They pursued Midian and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side of the Jordan.
  • Joshua 11:4 - So they went out, they and all their armies with them, as many people as the sand that is on the seashore in multitude, with very many horses and chariots.
  • Joshua 11:5 - And when all these kings had met together, they came and camped together at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel.
  • Joshua 11:6 - But the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow about this time I will deliver all of them slain before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”

  • Joshua 11:8 - And the Lord delivered them into the hand of Israel, who defeated them and chased them to Greater Sidon, to the Brook Misrephoth, and to the Valley of Mizpah eastward; they attacked them until they left none of them remaining.
  • Exodus 14:17 - And I indeed will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them. So I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen.
  • Exodus 14:18 - Then the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gained honor for Myself over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”
  • 1 Kings 20:27 - And the children of Israel were mustered and given provisions, and they went against them. Now the children of Israel encamped before them like two little flocks of goats, while the Syrians filled the countryside.

  • 1 Samuel 17:49 - Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.
  • 2 Chronicles 32:8 - With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
  • 2 Chronicles 32:9 - After this Sennacherib king of Assyria sent his servants to Jerusalem (but he and all the forces with him laid siege against Lachish), to Hezekiah king of Judah, and to all Judah who were in Jerusalem, saying,

  • 1 Samuel 14:12 - Then the men of the garrison called to Jonathan and his armorbearer, and said, “Come up to us, and we will show you something.” Jonathan said to his armorbearer, “Come up after me, for the Lord has delivered them into the hand of Israel.”
  • 1 Samuel 14:13 - And Jonathan climbed up on his hands and knees with his armorbearer after him; and they fell before Jonathan. And as he came after him, his armorbearer killed them.
  • 1 Samuel 14:14 - That first slaughter which Jonathan and his armorbearer made was about twenty men within about half an acre of land.
  • 1 Samuel 14:15 - And there was trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people. The garrison and the raiders also trembled; and the earth quaked, so that it was a very great trembling.
  • 1 Samuel 14:16 - Now the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked, and there was the multitude, melting away; and they went here and there.
