  • Romans 4:18 - In hope against hope Abraham believed that he would become a father of many nations, as he had been promised [by God]: “So [numberless] shall your descendants be.”
  • Romans 4:19 - Without becoming weak in faith he considered his own body, now as good as dead [for producing children] since he was about a hundred years old, and [he considered] the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
  • Romans 4:20 - But he did not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and empowered by faith, giving glory to God,
  • Romans 4:21 - being fully convinced that God had the power to do what He had promised.
  • Romans 4:22 - Therefore his faith was credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God).
  • Genesis 15:6 - Then Abram believed in (affirmed, trusted in, relied on, remained steadfast to) the Lord; and He counted (credited) it to him as righteousness (doing right in regard to God and man).
  • Genesis 32:28 - And He said, “Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed.”
  • 1 Samuel 7:9 - So Samuel took a nursing lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord; and Samuel cried out to the Lord for Israel and the Lord answered him.

  • 1 Samuel 7:12 - Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and he named it Ebenezer (stone of help), saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”
  • Exodus 14:13 - Then Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid! Take your stand [be firm and confident and undismayed] and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for those Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see again.
  • Exodus 14:14 - The Lord will fight for you while you [only need to] keep silent and remain calm.”
